Finance Lead - Cost and Investment

Reporting directly to the Sr. Manager, Canada Cost Team, the role will provide an oversight on strategic cost investments of Capital One Canada. This role has high visibility with senior executives through headcount process, and offers a wide perspective of the organization including our Customer Services centres

This candidate will provide a key role in monthly PF&A activities related to costs, primarily related to headcount and allocated expenses, as well as actively support our quarterly/annual budget forecasting process

This opportunity requires a strong analytical, strategic thinking, relationship management and influencing skills in order to be effective in driving strategic insights and buy-in from stakeholders.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead role in managing reporting, analysis and review of strategic investments in People, Technology and Capital investments

  • Key role in monthly, quarterly and annual planning, forecasting and analysis processes for Capital One Canada, to produce cost analysis to be shared and communicated to senior executives in many different financial forums

  • High profile role responsible for headcount reporting across all Canada groups, including our customer service centres in Scarborough and Montreal

  • Managing relationships with various groups across Capital One in Canada, United States and UK. Pursuing deeper understanding of cost allocations and best practices.

  • Leveraging Agile principles and financial reporting tools and applications, the candidate will help the team stand up innovative financial reporting views to deliver more efficient and insightful analysis to business partners

  • With a high energy level, be proactive in anticipating demands from business partners while identifying areas of opportunity to improve financial reporting processes

  • Has strong presentation and communication skills to successfully influence senior leadership

Basic Qualifications:

  • Bachelors Degree

  • At least 3 years of experience in Financial Services

  • At least 3 years of experience in forecasting and analysis

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Masters Degree

  • 5+ years of experience in Financial Services

  • 5+ years of experience in forecasting and analysis
