Amec Foster Wheeler Payroll Clerk - US in Oakville, Ontario

Amec Foster Wheeler is seeking a US Payroll Clerk.

Working in the payroll office as part of the North America shared services, you will work with the US Shared Services payroll team in processing the full payroll cycle by analyzing, verifying and preparing data for timesheets, payroll, general ledger information and interfaces between systems.

Key Responsibilities but are not limited to:

  • Verify and process timesheets, payroll, general ledger and interface information

  • Prepare general ledger reconciliations and other ad hoc spreadsheets and analysis using excel

  • Generate data for statistical reporting to various States

  • Assist in the month end and year end process through data entry, keying of journal entries, report generation, shadow payroll updates, preparation of W2’s

  • Provide information to employees on payroll matters, benefit deductions and timesheet issues

  • Administer iPay site by resetting password and assisting employees

  • Monitor payroll in-box

  • Maintain filing, archiving, scanning and photo copying for the area

  • Others duties as assigned by manager or senior payroll staff

  • Must have a minimum 1 year office experience preferably in accounting, human resources or payroll experience in either Canadian or US

  • Experience with ADP PCPW is an asset

  • PCP payroll certification is considered an asset

  • Post secondary degree or diploma in an accounting, human resources or business program is required

  • Attention to detail with an ability to prioritize and meet deadlines. Aptitude in recognizing and solving issues that will affect the accuracy of employees pay

  • Strong work ethic, must be flexible with hours and willingness to work additional hours when required to meet strict deadlines

  • Good interpersonal and verbal and written communication skills

  • Proficient with Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Power Point, Outlook)

  • Must be team oriented, with an ability to work independently, in a fast-paced environment

  • Must have strong initiative, willingness to learn and take responsibility for own learning
