Job Title:Quality Inspection Technician - Afternoon ShiftRequisition Number:38852Functional Area:QualityWork Location:Landing Gear - OakvilleJob Description Summary:Summary:Reporting to the Supervisor, Quality Control, as the Inspection Technician, you will be responsible for the inspection and acceptance of in-process and completed Landing Gear Assemblies, and related detailed components. This is a permanent position on the afternoon shift (3pm - 11pm).Primary Responsibilities:Perform First Article Inspection of Landing Gear parts to Drawing as per AS9102Perform inspection & acceptance of detail parts with flexibility of working in machining, surface finishing, and assembly shops following LG quality procedures and specific instructionsEvaluate products for acceptance criteria and initiate rejection process where requiredComplete diverse paperwork and systems records for traceability and movement of products; perform product and process auditsPerform work safely with heavy parts using a variety of inspection toolsApply 5S workplace organization & follow the companies Lean initiativesPerform other duties as assignedNote 1: the qualified applicant will be required after adequate training and experience, to certify & buy-off products or assembly units for shipmentsNote 2: you must be able to participate in the AOG (Aircraft On Ground) on-call rotation schedule.Basic Qualifications:College Diploma or University Degree in a related technical discipline is preferred.Minimum two years inspection experience or equivalent product knowledge. Aerospace experience would be considered an assetCompletion of relevant quality control certification CGSB Level 1 Visual would be an assetExperience with ISO standards and/or equivalent quality, military, or government standardsDemonstrated ability to read, interpret, and adhere to drawings, specifications, Geometric Dimensioning & Tolerancing (GD&T), and related quality control documentation and standardsStrong interpersonal skills including the ability to communicate effectively, both verbally and writtenExcellent organization skills.
