Amec Foster Wheeler Regional HR Lead (GBS Americas) in Oakville, Ontario

Amec Foster Wheeler is currently recruiting for a Global Business Services (GBS) Americas Regional Human Resources (HR) Lead at our Oakville, Ontario office location. Our company has established a GBS responsible for providing a new operating model for delivering internal business services on a consistent global basis using a “Global Execution Model”. As the GBS Americas Regional HR Lead, you will have overall responsibility and oversight for all the HR services provided by GBS, whether onshore or offshore, as a HR shares services to support the Americas regions, including North and South America. The GBS Americas HR Regional Head will be an active leader in delivering GBS Americas HR operational goals and working with the GBS leadership in continued development of and implementing the Global Business Services strategy.

The GBS Americas HR Regional Head will partner with leaders across the organization to ensure that the GBS team provides efficient and effective services that support the ongoing needs of the business. They will foster a team environment and a strong service culture that ensures delivery of timely and quality driven service to internal customers and meets customer service level agreements.

Key Responsibilities

  • Provide vision, leadership, planning, project coordination and change management for the development of a cost-effective department while concurrently facilitating efficient operations to meet current and future business needs

  • Implement and achieve SLA and KPI measures including budget

  • Recruit, develop and retain unmatched talent and high-performing teams through continuous learning, honest feedback, rigorous development and disciplined talent management

  • Promote proactive approaches to solve business needs and ensures continuity and successful delivery of functional services to users throughout the organization

  • Foster and maintain positive relationships with HR team members and internal customers to ensure effective delivery of the shared services

  • Provide overall prioritization of work assignments and management of functional team resources and their activities

  • Maintain effective customer service for all internal customers by utilizing excellent, in-depth knowledge of company policies, processes and programs

  • Develop plan to integrate a consistent set of HR shared services for all regional entities across the Americas in to the GBS team

  • Implement newly developed E2E processes in the appropriate locations including off-shore to a GBS global delivery centre wherever appropriate

  • Engagement with business and process owners on execution of in-country deep dive process and organizational analysis to identify processes and FTE’s that are eligible for transition to a Shared Services environment

  • Negotiation with business and process owners to agree upon scope, timing, transition, training parallel operations, escalation procedures, and after care program for FTE’s in the agreed upon scope of work

  • Negotiations with the regional business and HR owners, and other regional stakeholders in relation to project scope, negotiations of severance and retention internally and with external workers councils, coordination of execution of agreed upon scope of work and monthly updates to the regional management team on operational status and financial performance

  • Ensure all necessary best in class shared services tools are in place to provide a quality service to the business including but not limited to: Process documentation, knowledge library, case management etc

  • Responsible for report writing and analyzing data flows for audit and process improvement opportunities

  • Lead the review, testing and implementation of system upgrades or patches. Collaborate with functional and technical staff to coordinate application of upgrade or fix. Maintain HRIS system tables. Document process and results

  • Oversee data integrity in HR systems by running queries, analyzing data and creating and conducting various audits. Develop data integrity protocols between HR, Finance and other internal departments

  • Manage quarterly review of access to HR Systems and ensures data entry process continues to operate in accordance to SOX compliance

  • Perform other duties as requested by management

  • Bachelor's degree plus post-graduate / professional development in leadership, HR and / or business principles

  • Strong Project & Change Management skills

  • Deep understanding of Human Resources with 5+ yrs experience in an HR Supervisory role

  • Proven experience in establishing, developing and running a HR Shared services delivery team is a definite asset

  • Exceptional leadership skills and proven ability to manage others and lead a team

  • Strong interpersonal skills and a strong understanding of customer relations

  • Strong communication skills (verbal and written) in English

  • Ability to interact with senior management

  • Proficiency in Microsoft Word and Excel
