EY’s Forensic Technology & Discovery Services (FTDS) team forms part of the Fraud Investigation & Dispute Services (FIDS) business unit and specializes in forensic technology services encompassing eDiscovery, Forensic Data Analytics and IT Forensic investigations. Using state of the art tools, our teams support clients with compliance management, fraud investigation, fraud detection, and assisting clients to respond to regulator queries.

The Forensic Data Analytics team are a global group of technical specialists that practice the full life cycle of data management from the early stages of data scoping and capture, to its management, analysis and reporting. The nature of our work typically requires working with large datasets from disparate data sources to support fraud investigations and disputes for our clients covering a range of industries. This is achieved by combining deep forensic investigation knowledge with advanced data analytics techniques such as investigative data linking, social network analysis, statistics, artificial intelligence, machine learning and predictive modelling.

Our Forensic Technology & Discovery Services (FTDS) lab provides cutting edge forensic technology infrastructure and tools necessary to uncover the most complex frauds close to the occurrence.


What you will do:

  • Contribute to client engagement teams, carrying out reactive and proactive data analysis of large structured and unstructured datasets involving a wide range of systems

  • Work and build strong relationships with EY team including fraud investigators, clients, internal and external auditors, lawyers and regulatory authorities in sensitive and adversarial situations

  • Work in our specialist forensic technology data analytics labs and onsite to help clients leverage knowledge from their data for measurement of the following: fraud risks and losses, prevention, continuous monitoring, detection and investigation of occupational fraud, etc.

  • Work to support clients and fraud examiners on the benefits of forensic data analysis and how it can be applied to their issues

  • Contribute to the team’s growth through proactive business development and networking


  • Passionate about Data Analytics along with minimum 5-7 years of experience in programming skills is a prerequisite. You will be expected to demonstrate strong technical problem-solving abilities as well as clear proficiency in handling computer hardware, software and networks.

  • 5-7 year prior experience to any data analytics tools and techniques is also beneficial.

  • Strong academic record, including a degree in a relevant subject (e.g. Computer Science, Applied Mathematics, Statistics, Accounting and/or Finance).

The following experience would also be ideal:

  • Exposure to database management software, stats and machine learning software and link analysis/data visualization software, big data platforms (e.g. Hadoop, Hana).

  • 5 year experience in data collection and load, data QA, data cleansing and enhancing, data transformation, relationship profiling, sampling and extrapolation, segmentation, modelling, segmentation, structured data mining and text mining. Exposure to ETL tools such as Informatica, SSIS, or scripting languages would be beneficial.

  • Strong knowledge of SQL and relational databases, as well as knowledge of predictive modelling technologies such as SAS Enterprise Miner, SPSS, SQL Server 2005 DMX etc.

  • Exposure to data from accounting systems application such as SAP, Oracle / PeopleSoft, JD Edwards, MFG Pro, Extensity etc.
