John Hancock Informatica Platform Administrator in ON, Canada

Informatica Platform Support Admin is a member of the Platform & Middleware Services team that is responsible for providing administration support for the shared Informatica platform environment that is utilized by over 30 different business applications. Responsibilities include all standard administration tasks, including monitoring stability of the environment, investigation of production issues, code promotion, user account management, and etc. Informatica Platform Admin will be a member of a larger distributed Platform & Middleware Services team that oversees a number of different platforms. Person in this role will interact with various Systems Support and New Development teams on constant basis.

Job Responsibilities:

  • Daily administration of Informatica Platform, including but not limited to server troubleshooting, user access administration, and code promotion.

  • Participate in platform upgrades, especially Informatica upgrades.

  • Maintain and update Platform Support documentation as needed.

  • Follow established code management and change management procedures.

  • Provide consultation on Platform details and capabilities for new development and application support teams.

  • Be available to work off-hours and extended shifts if required.

  • Provide on-call support as part of on-call rotation within the Platform Support team.

  • Keep up with Informatica skills by attending training on new version and learning from more senior team members.

  • Must have experience in supporting Informatica shared environment.

  • Informatica development experience is a plus, but not required, and in certain cases might be substituted.

  • Informatica Cloud Services, Informatica TDM and Informatica DIH experience is a plus.

  • Experience with MS SQL Server and Oracle databases

  • Experience with PEARL and shell scripting

Additional Qualifications:

  • University degree in Computer Science or related field. Equivalent technical experience may be substituted for this educational requirement.

  • 5 years of Informatica PowerCenter Administration/Development experience, including monitoring and troubleshooting of Workflows.

  • 2 years of experience with PEARL and shell scripting

  • 5 years of experience with MS SQL Server

  • 3 years of experience with Oracle Database or other databases

  • 5 years of experience with version control software like SVN

  • Working knowledge of scheduling system like CAWL, Control-M or Tidal

  • Working knowledge of Microsoft products (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, SharePoint).

  • Experience providing critical production support within highly distributed team within financial investments organization.

  • Familiarity with waterfall and agile project management methodologies.

  • Understanding of standard security procedures, especially as related to promoting new code into production environment.

  • Good verbal and written communication skills and experience interacting with remote team members of different skill level and in different roles.

  • Organization skills to independently manage conflicting priorities between ongoing work and critical production issues.

  • Ability to work both independently and as part of a larger team.

  • Demonstrated interest in self learning new platform tools.
