This position sits within the Products and Services team at TELUS, a results oriented, learning based organization that lets you jump right in and take on some of our most challenging projects that will stretch your skills and help you grow. We are one of the few teams in TELUS that have shared responsibilities across both wireless and fixed line services, so you have the rare opportunity to gain experience in our two major lines of business. In addition, we work extensively with external partners, technical, go to market, and operations teams so you will gain an appreciation for the business, end to end.

You will develop your talents in project management, facilitation, presentation skills, product development methodologies like Agile, and structured problem solving methods. Position Overview:

Team:Consumer Products and Services – Program Management and Planning

Role:Project Manager II (aka project leader and conductor, strategic thinker and driver of key decisions, prioritizer, problem solver, team player, facilitator, quality champion)

Focus:Lead a cross-functional team consisting of Product Development, Technology Strategy, Business Transformation, Client Care, and Marketing to deliver on complex high priority projects

What You Bring to the Table:

  • A passion for advocating for and leading the charge toward the best possible end user client experience

  • Project management skills with focus on how EVERY decision impacts the client experience

  • Adept at defining, articulating and maintaining focus on the strategic value to TELUS of the project you are leading – the courage to drive difficult decisions throughout the project

  • Expertise in project management processes and a passion for driving process improvements within your project

  • The ability to effectively communicate, sell ideas and influence without authority and across a wide range of both working level and senior management stakeholders

  • Solid interpersonal skills and self-awareness with the ability to give, take, and act on, feedback in a positive way, ALWAYS

  • Technical inquisitiveness, willing to get into the details of a solution to the degree that you can own the solution as the business prime

  • Experience delivering on complex solutions, while making the case for intelligent trade-offs between delivery time/quality/scope and cost

Required Professional Designation/Certification:

  • University degree in a related discipline

  • 3 to 5 years of experience managing all phases of complex projects

  • Experience with process redesign, Lean/Agile, Six Sigma an asset

  • PMP is an asset
