Tasks to be Accomplished

  • Learn and understand L-3 WESCAM’s complete product offering (price book)
  • Understand customer requirements via Request For Bid (RFB) / Request For Proposal (RFP) / Request for Information (RFI) / Request for Quotation (RFQ) etc.
  • Evaluate the Proposal Request and prepare for Pursuit or Bid Decision meeting (Manager)
  • Chair the Proposal Kick-off meeting (Coordinator / Manager)
  • Create and maintain action plan, delegate and expedite assignments to/from the proposal team
  • Coordinate the costing / pricing / approval process within complex Excel spreadsheets, including capturing all Basis of Estimates (BOE)
  • Coordinate the handling of custom proposal requirements (SOW, SPEC, T&C compliance matrices etc)
  • Coordinate the proposal writing phase and review and approval process (Coordinator / Manager)
  • Complete concise proposal text / compliance text to fill-in gaps with proposal team text. ((Coordinator / Manager)
  • Follow-up and expedite timely responses from the proposal team
  • Obtain approvals following Wescam’s approval process (chair approval meeting if required)
  • Complete the proposal and prepare the response for on-time submission
  • Provide post-proposal support during subsequent Q&A and Negotiations
  • Closeout the proposal process

Skills Required

  • Strong proficiency (advanced users) with MS Excel (complex spreadsheets) and MS Word (proposal documents)
  • Strong organizational skills
  • Excellent writing skills with the ability to write persuasive proposal text (Coordinator / Manager)
  • Excellent verbal communication skills with the ability to chair bid management meetings (Coordinator / Manager)
  • Excellent attention to detail is essential

  • Expertise in System level Program Execution (Statement of Work, Work Breakdown Structure etc.) (Manager)

Experience & Education Requirements

  • 1 - 10 years bids and proposals experience in a technical, fast paced environment
  • Experience in aerospace product sales or sales support an asset Technical background desirable.
  • College Diploma
  • Working knowledge at the Association for Proposal Management Professionals (APMP) Practitioner level
