As a key member of the Sales Team, the Regional Account Manager is responsible for driving demand and selling Crop Protection (pesticide) products as part of a crop systems approach to Canadian retail and farm customers in Eastern Ontario/Quebec . This position will be responsible for promoting agronomic practices that deliver sustainable solutions to our farm customers. These positions will report directly to the Area Sales Team leader (ABM) for Ontario with dotted line responsibilities to the Strategic Account Manager in the eastern region.

Key Business Accountabilities

As a key member of the Sales Team, the Regional Account Manager is responsible for selling Crop Protection chemistry and supporting the seeds and traits business to Canadian retail and farm customers. The successful candidate will:

  • Be responsible for achieving territory Monsanto chemistry targets as determined by the Area Sales Manager

  • Provide input on chemistry distribution decisions to Strategic Account Manager

  • Manage retail business relationships within a defined territory

  • Develop, communicate, and implement annual business plans with retail accounts (including sales targets and tactics, operational needs, agronomic training, support, and stewardship plans)

  • Create seed, trait and chemistry demand by executing on local tactics and activities that come out of the Business Plans

  • Effectively communicate the value proposition of the RR2Xtend Crop System and Monsanto’s chemistry products offer through our retail/distributor/grower channels

  • Provide support on the systems approach with the DEKALB Territory Account Managers and Agronomists

  • Develop a deep understanding of an integrated systems approach to support Monsanto’s business

  • Actively promote weed management and technology stewardship

  • Contribute to operational excellence in the execution of programs, tactics and other key administrative functions

  • Meet organizational safety requirements

  • Manage Summer Assistants as required

Core Business/Functional Skills and Education

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Agriculture, Business or Marketing, or equivalent combination of skills and experience

  • Fundamental knowledge of seed and chemistry agronomics

  • Bilingual English/French

  • Proven sales and relationship building skills with both retail and key grower customers

  • Strong knowledge of Word, Excel, PowerPoint and OutlookDriving record must meet Monsanto requirements
