Position has responsibility for Wealth Management learning and development strategy, executions, quality and impact. This encompasses BMO Nesbitt Burns, Private Banking Canada & Asia, Personal Wealth US, InvestorLine, Wealth Planning, Insurance, and Wealth HQ.

This position is accountable for being a critical strategic lead learning partner in which learning becomes an integrated component of the overall Wealth Management People and Business Strategies and helps drive business impact and employee performance and knowledge standards. Position is accountable for leading the development of innovative learning strategies for both long-term (three year) and annual business plans through the analysis, assessment, design, development and implementation of integrated business learning strategies.

Position partners with Business leaders, key stakeholders within the business, and key partners such as HR and IFL partners, leading the development of innovative learning strategies for Wealth Management. Finally, the position is accountable for leading a team of highly skilled learning professionals that identify business gaps / opportunities as well as future needs / directions in the development of relevant and effective programs & curriculum.

The role leads Learning priorities for Wealth Management across a broad spectrum of learning activities which include but are not limited to:

  • Orientation and new to role Learning Paths for a variety of roles

  • Learning to support transformational change in Wealth Management (E.g., technology implementations and enhanced usage of Digital channels and digitization of client journeys)

  • Learning to support regulatory change in Wealth management (E.g., Mandatory technology changes, new regulations)

  • Learning Programs to support Cross-Wealth strategic and leadership objectives

  • Learning elements to support Wealth Management conferences such as Leadership capability building and skill strengthening

In addition, the position leads the strategy for how Learning is deployed, combining face-to-face Learning strategies with increasing use of digital learning solutions to meet the evolving needs of Wealth Management.

  • Creates and executes over-arching long term learning strategy, which considers all IFL programs

  • Fulfills trusted advisor and strategic partner role for Wealth LOB, in order to help drive business impact

  • Measures progress of learning & development initiatives against desired business outcomes

  • Leads and manages a team of Senior Learning Partners, Senior Learning Consultants and Learning Consultants supporting Wealth LOB learning

  • Direct team responsible for the design, development and maintenance of high quality learning programs and materials

  • Provide advice/input to support clients in achieving their business objectives – recommend implementation of the highest value deliverables/methods for the lowest cost

  • Responsible to build effective relationships with business partners, ensuring their confidence that their business needs/objectives are being met/exceeded

  • Assist in the development of successful strategies for managing relationships

  • Work in partnership with other areas of the Bank and external vendors to deliver on project goals

  • Ensures that execution occurs consistent with organizational policies, procedures and standards of quality

  • Wealth Management Group head, Wealth Management LOB/Function heads in determining learning objectives and sustainment activities

  • HRBPs in integrating learning into the groups' human capital strategies

  • IFL on course quality and effectiveness analysis

  • IFL on course facilitation and delivery management

  • Governance and operations on the quarterly scorecards

  • Learning Infrastructure team as it relates to technology and web standards for eLearning development

  • Wealth Management LOB, compliance, and legal as it relates to role curriculum content
