BMO Financial Group Physical Security Analyst in Ontario, Canada

Description:

The mandate of the Investigative & Security Services group (I&SS) is to protect BMOFG people, assets and information and provide subject matter expertise and oversight as it relates to criminal risk.

The Enterprise Physical Security Risk & Services team is accountable for leading the oversight and strategic direction of Investigative & Security Services’ response and governance to Physical Security Risk (Property and People Protection) in all jurisdictions in which BMOFG operates.

This role is responsible for performing operating procedures to support the Physical Security and Security Management people & property protection programs.

Through the effective execution of this role, the impact of criminal risk on the customer will be minimized.

This role is responsible to complete tasks associated with Physical Security People & Protection Programs which include system administration services for Security Equipment such as Pass Administration, Intake from Internal/External Customers, and retrieving data to support Criminal Investigations.

Change Management

  • Improve operational methods and workflows by identifying, recommending and implementing process improvement initiatives.

  • Communicate openly and regularly about business issues

Relationship Management

  • Partner with law enforcement, physical security vendors and other financial institutions to gather and share intelligence

  • Establish strong relationships with internal business groups by providing advice and counsel where appropriate

Business Performance Management

  • Make recommendations for continuous improvement of business processes, procedures and tools by providing input and recommendations to the I&SS Leadership team

  • Demonstrate behaviours that are consistent with “Our Way” model and aligned with BMO values.

Risk Management

  • Escalate all problems/issues with Security equipment and Systems to their Manager.

  • Ensure all Security equipment and Systems are operating in accordance with Standard Operating Procedures.

  • Responsible for the Administration and validation of all system access reports/lists.

  • Responsible to monitor access to BMOFG premises.

  • Responsible to understand, follow and administrate their Standard Operating Procedures

  • Be fully conversant with Emergency Procedures and support Management in their communication and implementation.

Responsible to identify gaps and escalate as needed.

This role has direct impact on the enterprise's exposure to criminal activity, including the delivering of services as it relates to specific building people and property protection programs performed to protect our customers, employees, physical information, assets, business continuity and the reputational risk of BMO FG.

Cross Functional Relationships

  • Provide customer support to all lines of business, understanding and servicing the needs of internal and external clients.

  • Responsible to respond and provide support for urgent situations after normal business hours.

  • Liaison with Security Vendors during service calls to ensure security equipment has been repaired and is operating as intended.

Qualifications:

Knowledge & Skills

A) Knowledge:

  • Conversant with the operation/maintenance of security equipment.

B) Skills:

  • Able to multi task in a fast paced environment.

  • Able to work at a high level of accuracy and concentration.

  • Strong time management skills.

  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.

  • Conversant with PC operations, Windows systems and security equipment.

  • Proficient in MS Office Suite

  • Programming an Asset
