This position reports to the Manager, Data Solutions

Main Challenges:

The Data Solutions team is responsible for providing data required by various business groups within NBCN and its clients. Our solutions include scheduled reports, ad-hoc data requests, and end-user data and operation tools. The team is also responsible for maintaining our master data source, which imports data from various systems and files. With the amount of request we get on a daily basis, we are looking for a self-motivated person to fill the role of Senior Analyst to help manage these data tasks as well as to optimize some of our processes.

Specifically, you will:

  • Act as the facilitator between the Data Solutions team and other teams within NBCN for data inquiries and reports;

  • Maintaining data integrity of our data sources with updates coming from various sources;

  • Organize data processes within the group, ensuring accuracy and quality of data and reporting outputs;

  • Working with the Data Solutions team on implementing its data strategy;

  • Identifying ways to streamline business and data processes to provide a better data delivery experience and reduce time-to-deliver.

  • Bachelor's degree in Math or Computer Science or a related field and four years' relevant experience OR Master's degree in a related field and two years' relevant experience OR University certificate/undergraduate diploma from the National Bank University Program and six years' relevant experience;

  • Experience with writing SQL queries and VBA;

  • Proficient in MS Suite: Office: Access, Excel, Word, and Power Point;

  • Knowledge of SQL server, database fundamentals and business intelligence platforms is an asset;

  • Excellent communication skills, with fluency in delivering complex qualitative and quantitative information with clarity and precision;

  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills;

  • Comfortable dealing with vast amount of data and be able to drill down to specific date needs;

  • Able to multi-task between various projects in a fast-paced environment with tight deadlines;

  • Self-motivated, customer-oriented and be able to work well both independently and within a team with limited supervision;

  • Bilingualism both spoken and written (English and French) an asset.
