Pythian is seeking a Director of Managed Services for our technology groups. This individual will be reporting to the VP of Managed Services. The Director of Managed Services is responsible for leading a group of Team Managers who oversee the remote delivery of services around the world, 24/7, 365 days a year.
Pythian is looking to complement the strength of our global Managed Services management team with a professional who has expertise in delivery of IT services and operational support, as well as a passion for people leadership.
The Director of Managed Services will be a member of the Managed Services Leadership Team delivering on Pythian’s commitment to provide an exceptional quality of service to our clients and enable a fantastic working environment for our people.
This position is accountable for ensuring:
The delivery of an exceptional quality of IT services provided by their team to Pythian clients.
Allocation of technical resources to support client coverage and optimize the distribution of talent. Advocating for Pythian processes and ensuring adherence within their teams.
Retention and engagement of our top global talent, including ongoing talent management with a strong focus on continual development.
Creation of a strong working relationship among their teams, the Internal Principle Consultants, Transformation Services and the Customer Success Leads.
A strong working relationship between their group and all functions to support the organizational goals and objectives.
As Director of Managed Services, you will work closely with the following team members and departments.
VP, Managed Services and the Managed Services Leadership Team to grow and scale the managed services function and deliver on our market opportunity.
Transformation Services to support pre-sales efforts and when necessary negotiate resources.
Customer Success Leads to support the management of client relationships
Other Managed Services teams to ensure the highest quality of service to our clients.
Human Resources to attract, hire, develop, engage, and retain Pythian’s top global talent.
Project Office to ensure the adherence to comparative best practice processes.
The successful candidate will have:
Demonstrated experience with more than two (2) years’ experience as a Technical Director leading and managing managers with both technical and non-technical teams.
A proven record of strong leadership and excellence in people management.
A proven record of excellence in team building with peers and collaborating with other departments to meet organizational objectives.
A technically relevant background such as software engineering, computer science, math, physics or other related field that would enable a thorough understanding of the work delivered by the Managed Services team.
Strong organizational, analytical and problem-solving skills with high attention to detail.
An appreciation of different cultures, and the ability to collaborate and develop meaningful and consistent global solutions.
Excellent verbal, written communication and listening skills.
The ability to handle and resolve ambiguous, confidential and sensitive situations and issues.
Knowledge of industry trends and experience using an array of delivery models and a range of multi-media content delivery tools and techniques.
Ability to articulate their perspective and balance the needs of the organization.
A strong interest in continuous improvement, both at the personal level and among a team.
A high level of professional decorum, with a high level of energy and the ability to bring both to bear with a sense of humour.
EDUCATION: Minimum requirement: undergraduate degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering or Information Technology or other related fields from an accredited university, and multiple training and/or certifications in various technologies.
