Duties and Responsibilities:

Reporting to the Manager, Office of the Vice-Provost and Associate Vice-President (Academic), the Program Review Officer is responsible for coordinating all steps and procedures related to the undergraduate and graduate cyclical program review (CPR) component of the Institutional Quality Assurance Process (IQAP) as established within the province-wide Quality Assurance Framework (QAF) mandated by the Executive Heads of Ontario Universities and overseen by the Quality Council). A primary focus is providing support to academic units and program review teams throughout the CPR process. In fulfilling his/her duties, the incumbent maintains effective relationships and collaborates closely with Faculty Deans and Associate Deans, academic units, and other administrative departments on campus. The Program Review Officer also leads the extraction, compilation, analysis and reporting on institutional data and on survey/focus group results to support evidence-based decision making and actions. The responsibilities of the Program Review Officer include: A. Coordinating the IQAP, working in collaboration with the academic units and other relevant stakeholders to receive and review for completeness and compliance submissions of documents for cyclical program reviews. Supports the collaborative work with academic units and other relevant stakeholders on cyclical program reviews. B. Monitoring adherence to reporting requirements by academic units and coordinating preparation of reports on action plans and other reports arising from cyclical program review. C. Preparing and maintaining the academic quality assurance digital archive on cyclical program reviews. D. Supporting the Carleton University Committee on Quality Assurance (CUCQA)


The incumbent must possess the following qualifications:- Proven ability to manage and track multi-faceted, continuous processes - Ability determine precise nature of information requests and to formulate a solution - Ability to recommend and apply creative solutions to problems and issues  - Strong comprehension and critical thinking to understand and advise on complex issues - Ability to monitor and track a multi-faceted and continuous process to meet timelines - Detail oriented, resourceful, organized, innovative, flexible  - Ability to interact successfully with all levels of administration, faculty and staff  - Capacity to work under pressure and meet timelines - Strong communication and interpersonal skills o Good editing and proofreading skills - Experienced in data retrieval, information compilation, interpretation and analysis  - Capacity to identify issues, trends, data inconsistencies and articulate findings graphically and textually - Excellent knowledge of the requirement of statistical research on sensitive matters such as observing the requirements of confidentiality in the release of data, and the requirements for accuracy and thoroughness in the reporting of such data  - High technical expertise and proficient in a variety of information technologies (MSOffice/Windows/PC/Web-based environment)Ability to work independently with minimal supervision, demonstrate initiative and set priorities  - Good administrative and organizational skills necessary to coordinate and anticipate a variety of tasks connected with committee work

Education and Experience:

The above is normally acquired through the completion of a bachelor-s degree (honours) and/or equivalent work experience and over six years of progressively responsible related work experience, preferably in an education setting.
