Job Description: THIS IS A SIX (6) MONTH TEMPORARY CONTRACT POSITION
The Microsemi Timing and Synchronization Product Line Software Development Team is responsible for creating state of art timing embedded software for our world class timing microchip products.
Today, we're aggressively developing new timing technologies; including Ultra Low Jitter PLLs IEEE1588 and Synchronous Ethernet PLLs that solve optical, electrical and packet network synchronization problems. We're also playing a lead role in defining next-generation timing industry standards.
The Software GUI Developer will be part of the timing group software/algorithm team and will be working closely with firmware developers, system and chip architects and validation team to develop compelling desktop (or web based) GUI for our next generation, state of art, timing products. Responsibilities will include but not limited to:
Work with system architect and marketing team to define GUI requirements.
Be responsible for all aspects of GUI development including design, coding, testing, documentation, debugging and installer packages.
Maintain existing GUIs developed in Visual Studio.
Driver development for USB and SPI interfaces.
Assist with creating internal software development tools.
Bachelors degree or diploma in Software Engineering/Computer Science(Recent grads with COOP experience are welcomed to apply).
0 to 5 years related experience in software development.
Strong programming skills in object oriented design.
Working experience in GUI development using C# or Java or VC++ is highly desired.
Working experience in C/C++ programming and implementation of APIs and DLLs.
Hands on experience with scripting languages such as TCL, Python, Perl, Bash etc.
Strong problem solving and debugging skills and comfortable with operating lab equipment.
Strong verbal and written communication skills for interfacing with architecture, validation, manufacturing, and other disciplines.
Experience with embedded firmware development is an asset.
