In Canada, the Brand, Marketing and Communications (BMC) team is responsible for enhancing EY’s brand and reputation in the external market by creating a truly high-performing culture at the firm with teaming at its core and strengthening relationships with stakeholders. This team works closely with senior leaders of the firm to promote all the main functions of the organization, with a focus on industry sectors and service lines.

The BMC Specialist, Growth Markets, is a member of the national BMC team who oversees the implementation of marketing and communications programs related to Growth Markets in Quebec, including management of the Quebec EY Entrepreneur Of The Year (EOY) Awards program and the Entrepreneurial Winning Women program. This role also supports the Quebec market segment priorities. More specifically, the role promotes and enhances EY’s internal and external identity by developing and executing strategic relationships, identifying branding opportunities, leading engagement initiatives, contributing to internal communications strategy and supporting other large-scale projects consistent with the local and national marketing goals of the firm.

Working closely with the local BMC Growth Markets Leader, BMC Quebec Market Segment Leader and BMC colleagues across Canada (and beyond), this role will be expected to build strong relationships with senior-level stakeholders and acquire the subject matter expertise necessary to be a strategic advisor on the EY brand.


Qualifications:
Responsibilities

  • Strategy, planning and execution related to the marketing and engagement of Growth Markets in the Quebec marketplace including, entrepreneurial buyer groups, women entrepreneurs, family-owned business, venture capital, IPO and strategic transactions.
  • Strategy, planning and execution related to the marketing and engagement of the Quebec market segment including support to sector teams, sponsorship activation and people engagement initiatives.

Entrepreneur Of The Year Program responsibilities

  • Coordinate all EOY activities across Quebec including the program launch, onsite interview process, finalists, winners, alumni activities as well as the EOY gala.
  • Specific duties include:

    • Working with partners and staff across service lines and sector to help develop target lists
    • Communicate nomination goals and strategy to the offices to motivate internal nominations
    • Work with regional and local office leaders to assign onsite interviews and monitor progress
    • Work closely with the Quebec regional Program Directors, organize and execute logistics related to judging panel
    • Plan and execute all aspects of the nominees’ reception
    • Guide finalists through the collection of materials for vignettes produced for the regional galas
    • Plan and execute annual gala, work with the national events and EOY teams to identify best practices. This includes tracking RSVPs for all EOY-related events and ensuring attendance lists are kept up to date
    • Drive attendance to the gala to reach goal of 700
    • Manage, secure and liaise with external relationships including vendors and sponsors, as well as speakers and panellists related to EOY
    • Manage the EOY Quebec program budget, and reconcile all related invoices
    • Working with the Quebec Program Regional Director(s) to ensure a high-quality program with relevance to the local marketplace
    • Work with team to track and manage accurate program conversions metrics
  • Drive all event logistical matters related to a successful event including onsite assistance, venue and vendor selection, contract negotiation and budget integrity. Proactively identify and address project risks and opportunities.

Growth Markets responsibilities (outside of the EOY Program)

  • Own one of the Growth Markets priorities nationally and drive the execution of related BMC initiatives
  • Work closely with the EOY Program Directors in Quebec to identify key go-to-market activities and brand building opportunities
  • Understand relevant EY thought leadership, firm wide services and solutions, events, and how these apply to the Growth Markets pillar
  • Evaluate and identify strategic Growth Markets-related sponsorships in the Quebec market. Negotiate benefits, secure speaking opportunities, finalize contracts and execute benefits. Execute national sponsorships with benefits in the local market.
  • More broadly, the incumbent will contribute to the team's overall efforts to drive internal and external engagement around the firm’s Growth Markets priorities. This includes, but is not limited to, program management, development of internal communications, contributing to brainstorming efforts, special project management, supporting the local social/digital media strategy, advising on market-facing initiatives, etc.

Quebec market responsibilities

  • Develop and recommend strategies for project implementation, and ensure execution, namely around go-to-market initiatives to support the sector teams development and visibility efforts.

  • Contribute as an active member of the team to the success of various local initiatives, supporting local leaders, and liaising with the national team. Examples include CR initiatives, sponsorship activations, internal engagement programs and fundraising.

    To qualify, candidates must have:
  • At least five years of relevant work experience in marketing and event planning
  • University degree in marketing, or related field. Bachelor's degree is preferred
  • Superior communication skills and the ability to develop materials that are clear, concise and impactful
  • Strong project management, relationship-building, organizational and problem-solving skills
  • Ability to manage multiple projects in a high pressure, deadline-driven environment
  • A solid understanding of different aspects of marketing (public relations, internal communications, brand visibility, alumni relations, website and social media tools, etc.)
  • Ability to communicate confidently across all levels of the organization, and proven ability to influence and build collaborative relationships with senior-level stakeholders
  • Track record of creativity and innovation
  • A passion for entrepreneurship
  • Be fully bilingual
  • Knowledge of and experience in the professional services industry or entrepreneurial market is an asset
