Telus Manager - Development - THFS in QC, Canada
The Development/Technology Manager should, supported by the senior management team, and in collaboration with the product managers, architects and other project leads, be accountable and responsible for the development and production support of the Zrx, Medesync, Kinlogix and other various health solutions. In addition to leading the technical delivery of health applications and solutions, the Development/Technology Manager will also be accountable for overseeing cross team collaboration ensuring proper conformance and integration of all components within a specific health eco system.
Provide technical leadership and lead development teams through execution of solution delivery
Manage partnerships with external and 3rd party teams extending our Health delivery team`s delivery capabilities
Drive collaboration for creation of technical design documentations e.g. Detail Design and Architecture Blueprint documents
Act as a visionary to proactively assist in defining the technical direction for Health solutions
Be involved in all aspects of the project life cycle, from the initial kickoff through the requirements analysis, design, development, integration and implementation
Systems analysis and design, system modeling, performance modeling, integration planning and technology and component selection to ensure architectural consistency and coherence between technical and business processes
Manage THPS's process requirements as defined within the individual projects
Manage technical projects and proof of concepts
Solid understanding of service oriented architecture and design patterns
Experience with integration of security services including authentication, authorization, encryption and audit capabilities as part of an overall system design
Progressive software development experience, developing high-volume, on-line transaction processing applications in a multi-platform, multi-tiered, 24x7 environment
Demonstrated capacity for problem solving, synthesis, and making sound recommendations and decisions
Structured and disciplined application and object-oriented development methodology
Required Skills & Abilities:
Ability to lead teams through design and articulate complex technical concepts into executable development work packages
Strong technology awareness
Excellent written and verbal communication skills
Excellent leadership and interpersonal skills
Well-organized; expert analytical skills
Required Professional Designation/Certification:
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Health Information Science or equivalent
- 10 years in leading software design, Application Architect experience in healthcare related applications and solutions design/development and related B2B environments, including projects with HL7 and related health care privacy and security standards
