As the Senior Communications Manager, you will take on many exciting roles:

Expert in your field:

  • Lead the strategy and external communications execution of our business-to-business, consumer, health and community investment portfolios in Quebec and in some cases, nationally

  • Collaborate with the organization’s marketing and internal communications teams to deliver larger, multi-faceted campaigns

Engaging Collaborator:

  • Cultivate strong connections with our communications agency in Quebec

  • Identify, build and nurture relationships with influencers and content creators (bloggers, YouTubers, Instagrammers, etc.) in the province

  • Provide communications counsel and support

  • Collaborate with other communications, operational and support teams across TELUS

Big Thinker: Develop communications strategy and tactical plans, and execute these plans end-to-end

Proactive Planner: Actively identify and execute on key external profile-building opportunities for senior leaders

Captivating Storyteller: Act as a provincial media spokesperson

Required Knowledge:

  • Demonstrated aptitude for executing external communications strategies across owned, earned, paid and social media

  • Proven track record of delivering communications programs that drive results in the B2B, consumer and/or technology space

  • Success working with influencers and content creators

  • Experience as a media spokesperson

Required Skills & Abilities:

  • Stellar writing skills across a number of channels, including media, advertising and social media

  • Excellent storytelling skills

  • Ability to represent a team on cross-functional working groups managing critical issues, and to lead such teams where necessary

  • Exceptionally comfortable working in major all social media platforms

  • Superior French and English communication skills

  • Excellent relationship-building skills, especially in cultivating and maintaining a trusted advisor relationship with senior leaders

  • Self-starter, innovator and strategic thinker and decision maker

  • Strong interpersonal, organizational, prioritization and multitasking skills

Required Professional Designation/Certification:

  • An undergraduate degree or other post-secondary education or diploma in public relations, journalism, writing or a related field from a recognized academic institution

Required Experience:

  • At least 7 years’ media relations/social media/marketing communications experience in a corporate or agency environment
