Telus System Administrator - TELUS Health in QC, Canada
Reporting to the development and equipment manager, you will actively contribute to the administration, maintenance and advancement of our TELUS Health solutions.
More specifically, the responsibilities and requirements of the Linux System Administrator will include but will not be limited to:
Carry out system administration activities in accordance with the documentation
Maintain, implement and configure software in multiple environments
Configure clients access to our systems
Build and maintain Shell scripts
Install and test servers
Install and test OS patches and security updates
Perform backup and restore activities
Contribute to the development of test plans in conjunction with the QA team
Help document functional specifications, testing and implementation guides
Available to be on call in order to provide 24/7 support (on rotation)
Available to work outside the regular work week for special implementations
Grow within a team in a development environment
Strong Shell Scripting Skills
Secure Protocols sftp, ftps, https SSL/TLS, AS2
Subversion versioning and revision control system
Networking knowledge (routers, firewalls, load balancers)
Backup software, Tape library
Knowledge of AWS is an asset
Knowledge of Java script is an asset
Knowledge of PCI standard is an asset
Required Skills & Abilities:
Ability to represent TELUS in a professional manner when working with internal and external clients
Proficiency in research, analysis, problem-solving and decision-making
Interpersonal, communication and presentation skills
Required Professional Designation/Certification:
- Completion of post-secondary studies/certification in IT for the above requested knowledge
7 and more years of Linux System administration
3 and more years of Shell programming
3 and more years of networking
2 and more years of Windows server
