The PCL family of companies has an immediate opening for an experienced Human Resources & ProfessionalDevelopment (HR/PD) Coordinator for support in our BC Region offices. The position will be located in Richmond, BC .


  • Responsible for full cycle recruitmentincluding identification of staffing needs, job posting creation, LMIAapplication (for international candidates), candidate screening,conducting employee orientation and assisting hiring manager withonboarding plan.

  • Manage the student program.

  • Identify training requirements and attendeesand support employees in the creation and implementation of robustdevelopment plans. Plan and coordinate training courses within thedistrict.

  • May assist with the salary/bonus and talentreview cycles, vacation tracking, and assist employees and managers withconducting on-time quality performance reviews.

  • Maintain HR data bases, HRIS system andspreadsheets and prepare various monthly, year end and ad-hoc HR reports. Trackand analyze HR metrics to identify opportunities for continuousimprovement.

  • Assist HR/PD Manager in providing effectivecoaching, counseling and progressive disciplinary strategies on allemployee relations issues, up to and including terminations.

  • Support the benefits administration in thedistrict including short and long term disability management and theflexible benefits program.

  • In conjunction with the HR/PD Manager, developand support the health and wellness program.

  • Manage the long term service awardsprogram.


  • A post-secondary education in business,HR management, or a related discipline

  • Minimum 3 years of experience in arelated HR position.

  • Experience in recruitment, facilitation and HRadministration.

  • Strong business acumen.

  • Knowledge of relevant employment standards andlegislation in the province of British Columbia.

  • Strong communication and relationship buildingskills.

  • Excellent problem-solving, organizational, andtime management skills

  • Strong ability to research, analyzeinformation, and make recommendations

  • A positive, team focused attitude

  • Intermediate to advanced MS Office skills (Excel,Word, and PowerPoint)
