Job Description

Reporting to the Plant Manager and working in collaboration with Corporate Health and Safety Services, the incumbent is a health and safety technical expert.

More specifically, the Operations Health & Safety Technical Advisor:

  • Supports site management in identifying, analyzing risks, and implementing solutions relating to the major health and safety programs (technical standards).

  • Proposes, supports the development et implementation of an action plan addressing the technical elements that need to be implemented;

  • Coordinate, help implement mechanisms and ensure they are in place to maintain major programs in accordance with legislative and corporate requirements, as defined by Agropur;

  • Coordinates guides and supports supervisors and champions as they fulfill their responsibilities for major programs and job safety analyses;

  • Validates health and safety elements in investment and capex projects for projects of $100,000 and under; collaborates with Corporate Engineering for projects of $100,000 and over.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in engineering mechanical, industrial or other related field;

  • Member of a professional engineer association, an asset;

  • Minimum of three (3) to five (5) years of relevant experience;

  • Excellent knowledge of health and safety laws and standards related to major programs (lockout, confined space, work at height, machine safety, etc.);

  • Bilingualism, French and English, written and spoken;

  • Good command of computer tools and project management;

  • Ability to work under pressure and meet deadlines;

  • Ability to travel if necessary.
