Working here is your opportunity to shape an industry that’s vital to us all.Job SummaryReporting to the Payroll Manager, the Payroll Specialist operates in a multi business unit environment. The Payroll Analyst will participate in internal or third party special projects. The Payroll Specialist will be responsible for all payroll remittances, analysis, processes and documentations in accordance with applicable legislations.Specific Responsibilities• Manage and coordinate all payroll remittances oversee multi-payroll frequencies, run appropriate control reports and process the balancing on a weekly basis• Implement all government remittances processes in collaboration with US Corporate payroll team• Ensure and respect that all remittances are paid timely and accurately• Maintain a thorough knowledge of provincial / federal / labor laws remittances and ensure compliance with applicable legislations• Interpret government/labor laws regulations / notices affecting remittances, analyse and process accurately• Provide outstanding internal first level support and recommend to all business units on remittances related issues• Identify process improvement initiatives, solution oriented and define standards for new processes• Participate in internal / external audits with different stakeholders• Participate in internal / external special projects by taking out report, analyzing, building files and bringing out solutions• Assist Payroll Manager and Supervisor to provide different analyses on a regular basis upon request, creates and updates reports on Excel file and review regularly for improvementsQualificationsJob Requirements • Minimum of 5 years of payroll experience including a minimum of 2 years of remittances management• Member of Canadian Payroll Association an asset• Strong knowledge of Federal/Provincal/Labour laws for remittances• Advanced Excel and Access Skills and MS office• Comprehensive knowledge of payroll system and payroll processing • Understanding/knowledge of accounting practices• Experience with PeopleSoft system an asset Job Competencies • Very strong analysis and organization skills, attention to detail and follow through to resolve any outstanding issues and take appropriate action• Strong time management priority skills• Strong customer service skills• Bilingual• Ability to successfully partner with other departments within organization• Ability to adapt to a changing environment and support multiple clients• Process improvement oriented• Attentive to quality and timelines• Ability to manage confidential issues with the highest level of professionalism• Collaborative style around problem solving• Good communication skillsBenefits & Company StatementMcKesson believes superior performance – individual and team – that helps us drive innovations and solutions to promote better health should be recognized and rewarded.
