As a member of the IT Applications Team, you will utilize your skills in the development and support of applications to meet the needs of our internal clients. This role will specifically support the Responsible Care team
Analyze, develop code, configure and implement solutions to meet the business needs within the framework of an ERP (Enterprise Resource Planning) system solution, SAP (Systems Analysis and Program Development), Eclipse or Visual Studio.
Provide system support and troubleshooting for business users.
Participates in projects/initiatives to develop and implement integrated systems solutions.
Work with clients and other technical resources to translate business requirements into configuration or programming requirements by completing technical specifications.
Adhere to programming standards and processes as defined at NOVA Chemicals.
Update documentation/instructions for internal IT and/or client reference.
Perform testing using established methodology to ensure components of solutions meet defined specifications.
Apply established IT standards and processes to deliver/enhance business results.
Works with other IT professionals across NOVA Chemicals
The successful candidate will have a Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science with 5+ years IT experience. A combination of 8+ years post-secondary education and related experience, e.g. diploma and 6+ years’ experience.
An understanding of web services and the underlying standards/tools.
Familiarity or experience with SAP and SAP modules will also be considered an asset but not a requirement.
Thorough attention to detail.
Strong written and oral communication skills.
Effective interpersonal skills.
