Job Overview

Reporting to the site occupational health nurse, in this casual position you will provide assistance to our medical surveillance program and be responsible for providing comprehensive primary and emergency care to on-site workers in our Sarnia refinery health centre.

Key Accountabilities

  • Provide primary care to ill or injured employees

  • Provide emergency response

  • Maintain confidential medical records

  • Liaise with healthcare professionals, management, and employees

  • Perform health surveillance programs which includes health evaluations

Required Qualifications

Experience and Education:

  • Three or more years of nursing experience in an emergency department or industrial setting

  • Experience in occupational health

  • Nursing degree

  • Current registration with the College of Nurses

  • Canadian Occupational Health Nurses Association certification is an asset

Skills and Knowledge:

  • Bilingual (French and English)

  • Strong knowledge of the Worker’s Compensation Board (WCB) and emergency first aid

  • Proficient with audiometry, spirometry, and vision testing

  • Computer literacy; knowledge of Medgate GX is an asset

  • Able to work well with minimal supervision

Working Conditions

  • The shift schedule is casual on-call without fixed or pre-planned hours
