We are seeking an experienced Health, Safety and Environment Coordinator for our Saskatoon District office located in Saskatoon, Saskatchewan.

Responsibilities:

  • Assists with the development and implementation of the Project Specific HSE Plan.

  • Monitors PPE for site employees and advise where necessary.

  • Performs formal HSE work site inspections weekly

  • Develops and assists line management in conducting a Worker HSE Orientation Program.

  • Assists with the development and assessment of safe work practices and job hazard analyses

  • Assists supervisors with the on-site Pre-Job Safety Instruction Program (PSI).

  • Conducts and documents project health, safety, and environment inspections and submits to the project management team and district HSE manager.

  • Advises project superintendent and district HSE manager promptly of the occurrence of any significant health, safety, or environment incident.

  • Adheres to role-specific responsibilities outlined in the PCL HSE Manual.


Qualifications:

  • Post-secondary certificate, degree or diploma in a related discipline.

  • CRSP certification an asset.

  • Minimum of 1 year experience in commercial or civil construction with direct experience in HSE.

  • Working knowledge of Microsoft Office software.

  • Working Knowledge of construction processes and terminology.

  • Effective communication and presentation skills.

  • Experience managing potentially difficult situations regarding site safety.

  • Effective working knowledge of applicable safety legislation.
