Position Summary

Accountable for the strategic vision of our IGaming retention program from a consumer and product marketing perspective. This includes identifying, evaluating, recommending and implementing marketing and product initiatives to retain player segments, in support of IGaming revenue objectives in a highly competitive market. This role’s objective is to build a healthy long term player base to optimize revenue opportunities on an ongoing basis.

Major Responsibility Areas:

  • Leads the development of annual Retention Marketing Plans (includes budgets, projections) to develop loyal players and recommends the introduction of new marketing initiatives that will fulfill market opportunities identified; maximize consumer satisfaction and deliver upon corporate sales and profit objectives.

  • Monitors marketing initiatives to ensure they meet out guidelines and our performance expectations. Proposes adjustments to marketing initiatives

  • Develops and presents strategies for all retention communication initiatives including mass advertising (TV, digital), email deployment, promotions, and consumer offers. Initiates process to brief ad agencies and creative suppliers with respect to advertising and marketing plans/objectives. Recommends strategies and spending submitted by agencies prior to development.

  • Leads a cross-functional team (including 3 direct reports) in the assessment of current consumer communication and strategies.

  • Responsible for Retention media strategy development and the execution of the media planning process for player retention. Recommends all media plans, budgets and changes.

  • Monitors performance of consumer communication programs (sales, research tracking, etc.) and initiates corrective action required to address issues

  • For Product Marketing, works with vendors/operator(s) and internal Game development teamto review product roadmaps and evaluate potential how new games to offered can maintain current players. Markets and promotes new game launches. Monitors game performance and initiates corrective action to meet their objectives. Recommends mix of products to upsell and cross sell player segments

  • Managing and engages a wide array of vendors in order to accomplish marketing and product management objectives (i.e., game suppliers, Printers, Advertising and Media Agencies, Experiential Companies, Prize Fulfilment and Promotional Agencies).

  • Participates in the process of acquiring suppliers to deliver marketing initiatives and consumer communication products and programs (may include RFP, RFQ, etc). Plays a role in identifying criteria to be met by prospective suppliers.

  • Maintains a solid and in-depth understanding of consumers that impacts upon both IGaming products and the Ontario marketplace as a whole (includes psychographic; demographic; player and non-player behavioral studies; etc.). Analyzes results from both secondary and primary research. Evaluates market opportunity, revenue opportunity, risk, cost and implementation requirements.

  • Maintains knowledge base regarding the developments within IGaming industry with particular respect to IGaming products & related technologies; consumer communication programs and direct to consumer marketing opportunities.

  • Identifies research needs with the Research Analyst as part of annual planning

  • Provides feedback and input to improvements to ongoing research studies as they arise (e.g., tracking studies, psychographic, demographic and consumer behavior studies, market development studies, product opportunity studies, etc.).

  • Evaluates research findings and analytics, to evaluate current product mix and market situation and implements action to address problems or capitalize upon opportunities

Minimum Qualifications

  • Business Degree with a concentration in Marketing or equivalent

  • 5 to 7 years of marketing and product experience

  • 3 to 5 years of Loyalty Program, IGaming, Consumer Package Goods or Transactional Industry experience is an asset

  • Experience applying marketing principles including product marketing, promotion, merchandising, advertising, and market research, as well as, strong knowledge of IGaming channels

  • Exposure to and knowledge of broadcast media/production, consumer/retailer promotions, budget and agency management and knowledge of the print production processes

  • Strong analytical, interpersonal and organizational skills

  • Strong business management skills, flexibility and an ability to work under pressure in a fast paced environment

  • Exceptional written and verbal communication skills as well as the ability to work in a team environment

  • Knowledge of several software packages including Cognos, Peoplesoft, IMS, Microsoft Excel, Microsoft Word, Microsoft Power Point, Internet , Lotus Notes and Notes Databases is essential
