Robert Half Finance & Accounting Credit Manager in Surrey, British Columbia

A substantive client has a need for a Credit Manager who will report directly to the CFO and provide their extensive credit & collections background in a supervisory capacity overseeing a staff compliment in multiple locations. In this role, you will possess a minimum of ten years prior experience, seven of which in a managerial capacity, have extensive exposure to L/C's, provincial lien legislation and claims procedures. Proactive decision making skills with exceptional business judgment and communication skills make you an attractive fit for this role. Key Account Responsibilities and Functions o Ensure A/R and Credit policies, practices and processes remain efficient and effective. o Measure and track daily/monthly performance o Supervise and mentor staff, including providing oversight on collection activities o Maintain strong relationships with Vendors and various internal and external stakeholders o Ability to lead, facilitate and participate in various senior level stakeholder meetings and reviews o Advise and collaborate with both internal and external groups regarding the resolution of specific credit and A/R issues o Assess credit worthiness of prospective vendors and recommend/negotiate credit terms o Review customer balances for marginal/high risk exposure o Prepare and analyses customer account reports o Proactively resolve high level disputes and assist in the maintenance of client relations. o Monthly and/or periodic preparation of all overdue accounts o Prepare and maintain financial reporting for Senior Management o Monitor aging of all receivables and provide A/R reporting and analysis o Establish bad debt reserves and minimize debt write offs o Maintain the department structure and lead staffing to achieve department
