The Commerce Solutions Control Team’s primary function is to implement an effective control framework across the Commerce Solutions organization to identify and remediate control issues with a sense of urgency regardless of the source. The Control Team partners with all other control disciplines, adding an additional line of defense supporting Compliance, Risk and Audit, among others. The Team works in partnership on the development of new, and oversight of existing control functions and protocols throughout the Firm and provides a centralized view of and from all control functions, assisting in immediate, real time problem detection and escalation.
Assist with the development and standardized issue and action plan management protocols.
Partner with the business to identify new issues and track these using the issues system of record.
Help identify the root cause of control and process breaks; provide expertise to the development of action plans to fix and/or remediate.
Mange and track major milestones during action plan implementation.
Prior to issue closure, confirm and and validate the soundness and sustainability of action plans; validate appropriate actions have been taken in accordance with stated action plans.
Develop appropriate MIS to track the progress of action plans so as to ensure completion with stated timeframes.
Provide strategic, clear and regular updates and advice to management regarding significant matters, including issues requiring timely escalation and resolution.
Coordinate with business managers and business line control leads to ensure all issues and matters are addressed timely and effectively.
Partner with other control colleagues across the firm to identify and analyze trends and remediation plans that are highlighted across multiple organizations or processes and then work to ensure they are appropriately and consistently addressed.
Bachelor's degree (BS/BA) required.
Minimum of 5-7 years of experience in Controls, Operational Risk, Audit or a Merchant Services LOB required.
Experience with designing and implementing effective control and quality environments.
Understanding of systematic processes for identifying and escalating risk and control weaknesses.
Strong and effective communication skills to develop relationships between business groups and external examination teams.
Action-oriented and effective listening skills.
Excellent time management and planning skills along with the ability to handle multiple tasks at the same time.
Ability to review documentation and provide executive summary overviews and trending analysis.
Project management skills.
Inquisitive and proactive in identifying risks and proposing solutions.
Good team player - one who is able to prioritize in fast, moving, high pressure, constantly changing environment.
Ability to be flexible in working with internal departmental and external resources.
