As a member of the Utility Services organisation, you will:
Provide engagement delivery services both as an individual and as a team member.
Be responsible for ensuring that a quality, integrated software solution is delivered in a timely manner, at the budget, and to our client's satisfaction.
Work closely with the client to understand and manage their expectations, as well as working closely with Oracle and third-party vendors to ensure delivery.
Learn Oracle Utilities Products of Customer Care and Billing (CCB v2.x), Meter Data management (MDM2.x), Mobile Workforce Management (MWMv1.x or 2.x) and Work and Asset management (WAM).
Work with SQL, Java and XML technologies
Key Objectives of Role:
Support the development and documentation of requirements definition and/or business process definition
Assist in documentation preparation which can include presentation preparation, requirements specifications
Apply core Utility business process knowledge to key project tasks
Support the development of a prototype (if applicable)
Participate in the development, documentation and execution of test plans, test scripts and supporting users in pilot and UAT phases of the implementation
Participate in basic remediation testing
Support defect and issue resolution
NOTE this role requires 75-100% travel in the Continental US and candidates will be required to attend an Oracle sponsored 8-week training "Boot Camp" when hired.
Desired Skills and Experience
Must possess B.S. or B.A. degree in Management Information Systems/Technology or Computer Science
Minimum of 2 years overall experience in a functional or technical analyst role
Ability to communicate effectively and build rapport with team members and clients
Ability to travel as needed (75-100%) including 8 week Boot Camp to learn Utilities Applications
Proven customer facing experience within professional service organisations desirable
Should know basic application architecture for business applications
Knowledge of Design of Java Based Applications including a good understanding of the Design, Development, Testing and Release phases of the SDLC. Experience as an IT consultant and SQL proficiency.
Good understanding of business processes, Any Business Process Modeling experience is a plus.
SQL Databases, Querying from databases using SQL is required.
Documentation skills for requirements and designs documentation is a plus
Knowledge in Customer Management and Billing Systems is a plus
Energy industry knowledge, Smart Grid, Smart Meter, Energy Deregulations etc., is a plus
Strong written and spoken English communication skills
Detailed Description and Job Requirements
Intermediate consulting position operating independently with some assistance and guidance to provide quality work products to a project team or customer that comply with Oracle methodologies and practices. Performs standard duties and tasks with some variation to implement Oracle products and technology to meet customer specifications.
Standard assignments are accomplished without assistance by exercising independent judgment, within defined policies and processes, to deliver functional and technical solutions on moderately complex customer engagements.
2-5 years of overall experience in relevant functional or technical roles. Undergraduate degree or equivalent experience. Product or technical expertise relevant to practice focus. Ability to communicate effectively and build rapport with team members and clients. Ability to travel as needed.
