Responsible for the Planning/Purchasing of external manufactured/packaging products. Plans and issues purchase orders for all SKUs within their assigned product families. The objective is to achieve the desired customer service levels, desired inventory coverage, and to facilitate optimum inventory turnover/cycle time. Establishes close working vendor relationships and ensures satisfactory service levels to end customers.
Responsible for and is the primary point of contact for supply related issues to their assigned products from the point of planning/purchasing to disposition (sale or disposal).
Responsible for preparing the 18 month plan (monthly); adding any new codes provided from launch team; downloading forecasts, inventory, risk inventory, short-dated products, back orders, process orders and open purchase orders. Furthermore, the Planner will level plan 18 months out with a focus on the first 6 months and vendor’s lead time. Responsible for following up on past due purchase orders, expediting purchase orders, QM lots in house awaiting release, suspect stock and notifying demand of any risk inventory and short dated products to determine if they are still marketable.
Sends monthly updated forecasts to all vendors, and keeps open communication with vendors on purchase orders that need to be expedited due to increase in demand.
Responsible for issuing purchase orders based on the PSI analysis by SKU and sent to vendors within the first five business days of every month.
Review of monthly plan with Apotex Corp (Florida) for US planned batches before placing purchase order.
Download of reports to assist with the monthly plan by tracking deliveries, ensure purchase orders are delivered on time (especially for products where inventory levels are below 3 months), and notifying departments (traffic, laboratory) for products that need to be prioritized once received. Ensure all documents are received with the shipments, i.e. packing lists, commercial invoices, CofA, CofM, etc.
Works closely with both demand groups (US/Domestic) on any changes in forecast to ensure adequate inventory for products with increase in forecast and increase awareness for purchase orders that are pending for products that may be reduced in forecast and of any potential risk inventory.
Responsible to consolidate all data necessary for the Monthly S&OP Presentation.
Works with the Business Development team and escalates any issues being encountered with vendors to better understand the supply agreements in place.
Works closely with the launch team on all new external manufactured products and ensure desired launch dates are met by planning, issuing purchase orders and tracking deliveries.
Maintain and update all purchase order dates within SAP to provide current Available-to-Promise (ATP) dates, at the appropriate plant(s). As required, inform all applicable internal parties within Apotex when date changes impact internal and external customer service.
Responsible for the preparation and presentation of detailed ad-hoc analysis for products where limited API supply may be an issue, demand change impacts for all contentious product families and take appropriate action as needed.
Monitor inventory levels for all categories of material (e.g. Blocked, Short-dated) and take appropriate action as required with the objective of achieving inventory targets with sufficient expiry dating in order to meet customer service requirements. Actively participate in eliminating obsolete and expired materials.

Community College or University graduate in appropriate discipline.
APICS certified or actively working towards.
Previous Supply Planning background with emphasis on SAP.
Previous Procurement/Customer Service Experience.
Experience with ERP concepts and application.
Strong analytical skills.
Knowledge of operational supply chain processes including the flow of materials and information.
Good written and oral communication skills.
Ability to handle multiple tasks, short lead-times and adjust priorities in a professional manner.
Ability to perform situational root cause analysis and implement permanent corrective action.
Customer focused, drive for results.
Proficient with Microsoft applications.
