You will be on a team responsible for all aspects of day-to-day technical operations for our busy retail client’s Applications and Systems. This client has a private cloud, doesn't use a traditional database, has an Endeca layer, and a stack that include Jenkins, Bamboo, Puppet, Chef. You will be responsible for hands-on 24 x 7 technical operations to improve, maintain and monitor applications to meet our SLA. You will be working at Razorfish (core hours of 10-4 but we do have work from home flexibility) and dedicated to our main client

In the first month you'll shadowing the team to familiarize yourself with resources like our wiki. You'll be spending time with people working along side the account to get familiar with architecture and infrastructure

At the core you'll be doing continuous integration with tools like Puppet, Jenkins, Bamboo - automation for quick deployments

In the next phase you'll be working on ongoing initiatives & supporting upcoming releases. You'll also be spending time ongoing new tickets & issues

From 6 months and beyond the goal is for you to know how to look beyond the tickets to well oil the machine, to be more proactive than reactive.

Automate to fix on own, to prevent ideally. How to better improve performance, bring to table suggestions and recommendations, adding additional alerting

You can give concrete and complex examples of problems you've worked on

You understand complexities of scripting, can go through actual code - we use Bash, some Perl, Python, Java, Scala (TypeSafe stack)

You've worked with Puppet, Chef, Jenkins

Ideally, you've worked with a private cloud or other cloud experience with Amazon or ServiceNow Automation tool

You can describe why response times might be low, know ins and outs of log files, understand which ones to go to and when

You've supported clients and can discuss how to handle high priority engagements

Communication & hands-on relevant technical experience are the keys to this role
