Responsible for the day to day activities of the Canadian based Global Distribution Centre. Operations to be planned to provide cost effective service to both internal and external customers. Responsible for the supervision of various departments within a Distribution environment which including: Inventory Control, Receiving, Order Processing, Warehousing and Shipping. Responsible for performance management of direct reports including effective utilization of temporary manpower; based on trust and respect maintain a positive environment.

RESPONSIBILITIES

  1. Manage Daily Operations
  • Daily planning day to day departmental operations.

  • Monitor and control variable costs and labor costs.

  • Balance labor against volume demands.

  • Work closely and liaise with other departments and actively pursue Process Improvement

  • Achieve departmental performance measures (KPI’s) and metrics that meet or exceed Best in Class benchmarks..

  • Ensure that all Quality Control and Industrial Safety Standards are communicated to all employees, and that self-inspection methods are in place to assure compliance.

  • Ensure accurate picking to minimize charge backs from our customers.

  • Achieve monthly sales budgets for (MAC, EL and CL) brands.

  • Meet all International Affiliates and North America Brand commitments.

  • Establish and maintain the security of the warehouse, providing for that application of good housekeeping techniques and the prevention of any potential hazards by strictly adhering to HPB (Health Canada) and GMP guidelines.

  • Develops and maintains partnerships with internal and external customers

  • Communicate in a respectful and professional manner

  • Demonstrate to external customers a high level of professionalism and conduct expected by Company standards

  1. EHS, GMP and Legislative Compliance
  • Maintain Regulatory compliance; including HPB(Health Canada) legislation; Transportation of Dangerous Goods; Federal, Provincial and Corporate EHS requirements (OHSA; WSIB; MOL; CLC)

  • Ensure all employees are trained and adhere to EHS and GMP SOP’s to contribute to a safe working environment.

  • Promote an atmosphere that creates the safest work environment possible; with the goal to achieve Best in Class Safety Standards

  • Proactively seeks ways to improve personal and organizational effectiveness to meet current and future business needs.

  • Provide employee counseling, as required, to maintain and encourage high employee moral and to assure consistent application of all Company policies

  • Supervises, coordinates, trains, and provides leadership to and reviews the work of assigned staff while ensuring uninterrupted distribution to our customers.

Qualifications

Education:

o Minimum College Diploma, University Degree preferred

o Professional Certification preferred (P.Log.; CITT; CSCMP,)

Experience:

o Previous Supervisory experience preferred in high volume, fast paced distribution environment

Competencies:

o Strong Computer Skills in all MS Office Applications

o SAP and WMS experience an asset

o Excellent written and verbal communication skills

o Adept at managing competing priorities and time sensitive commitments

o Problem assessment and solving skills

o Working within a team environment both as team member and leader

o Ability to modify or change established methods and procedures with a focus on continuous process improvement

o Demonstrates high ethical standard and professional conduct

o Six Sigma/ Lean experience an asset
