Overview

Assist the Sourcing Managers and Associate Sourcing Managers through ongoing communication between Sears Canada Buying Office, International Buying Offices (IBO), Overseas Suppliers, and various external departments regarding the Direct Import process.

Major Responsibilities

  1. Communicate daily with overseas offices regarding size/fit, photo samples, purchase orders, etc. in order to complete an order, and maintain files for each style and recording submission. Liaise with IBO and Buyers on program development, eg. inform Buyers of program costings. Consult with Sourcing team to negotiate better cost on programs, eg. reject unreasonable exchange on trims, etc.

  2. Investigate and discuss problems (eg. wrong details on programs, styling, quality, etc.) with Buyer, Sourcing team, Product Manager, and vendor to determine the best solution for Sears.

  3. Prepare Net Landed Cost Sheets for buying departments, and follow up with Product Development, eg. measurement queries.

  4. Create various reports as required to provide total import purchases by compiling information from recording system. This includes preparing seasonal sales reports by Buyer/supplier, and resolving discrepancies.

  5. Coordinate travel arrangement for Sourcing team/Buyer/supplier, which includes VISA applications, hotel bookings, cash advances, etc. Advise IBOs/vendors of proposed itineraries. Schedule internal Buyer/ supplier meetings.

  6. Work in compliance with all laws and regulations and attend or complete all required health and safety training, report all accidents and take every precaution reasonable to ensure personal safety and the safety of others. Perform other duties as required, eg. Place orders with Import Buying office/vendors for Buyer.

Qualifications

  • Computer skills, including MS Excel

  • Demonstrated oral/written communication skills

  • Demonstrated organizational skills

  • Two year community college, preferably, Business Administration and/or Logistics

  • 6 months of experience as a Merchandise Business Associate
