In his position you will provide day-to-day support and coaching on employee and labour relations matters for the Ontario division. Essential Duties entail (but not limited to):
Works with the Senior Management Team to develop and manage the Human Resources & Labour Relations components of the divisional operations' plan including the related budget and workforce plan;
Delivers divisional HR & Labour Relations' objectives while ensuring alignment with National processes and practices;
Provides leadership in Employee/Labour Relations including participating in labour management committee meetings and collective bargaining;
In close collaboration with the Director, executes Labour Relations strategy, prepares and responds to Labour Relations issues, grievances, conciliations, arbitrations and executes contract preparation;
Provides strategic advice on employment legislation, Human Resources Policies, trends and case law and all Employee and Labour Relations issues;
Manages grievances and provides advice to management on their successful resolution along with grievance tracking;
Advises, coaches and counsels management on the effective implementation and interpretation of the terms and conditions of collective agreements and on complex Labour Relations matters;
Prepares reports and presentations on key Labour Relations issues;
Assists in the execution of strike contingency plans;
Manages the recruitment, selection and orientation processes for staff in the Ontario Division;
Manages the division's business transformation process;
Manages resources to assist in the delivery of the organization's HR programs and services (e.g. workforce planning, performance management and employee recognition);
Shares strategies, best practices and resources with management to promote a positive work environment.
Responsible for data input into HRIS/Payroll systems and producing ad hoc reports upon request.

Requirements: The ideal candidate will have their CHRL/CHRP designation with a post-secondary business degree/diploma in Human Resources Management, courses or certification in volunteer management will be considered an asset. Previous experience working in a Non-Profit Organization or in the Health Care sector would also be considered an asset. You will have a minimum of 5 years' experience in Human Resources including within Labour Relations and a minimum of 4 years' management experience with expertise in Labour Relations, recruitment, workforce planning, compensation, and talent management. Having demonstrated exceptional experience working in a unionized environment negotiating and influencing diverse stakeholders on challenging Labour Relations issues, a proven ability to conceptualize and anticipate future Labour Relations trends and previous success in using Alternative Dispute Resolution techniques. Having a demonstrated working knowledge of relevant employment and labour law and precedents and labour relations theory and practice.
