Bring your structured finance skills and your mortgage funding expertise to this Securitization Structures Specialist position in the downtown Toronto financial district.
As a full-time permanent member of the Securitization Product and Policy Development team, you will be supporting CMHC’s securitization guarantee activities by managing various projects such as developing new Securitization structures, improving existing Securitization products and/or recommending policy changes. You will proactively be monitoring and analyzing the performance of CMHC’s securitization products in the market with respect to valuation and risk pricing to ensure that products are meeting client needs and are competitive with other securitization structures. You will have a direct, material impact on CMHC's existing Securitization programs and on the future development of new Securitization products.
How You Will Be Contributing
Leading or coordinating projects with multi-disciplinary teams to develop new securitization products and to improve the existing products; resolve project issues, operationalizes product design.
Researching, developing and implementing various financial models in the areas of structuring and pricing in support of securitization products.
Analyzing and forecasting prepayment and default behaviours in/ National Housing Act / Mortgage-Backed Securities (NHA MBS) and other CMHC securitization products.
Leading or participating in the development of policies, methodologies, and analytical models to assess and monitor risks associated with CMHC’s securitization products.
Monitoring the performance of CMHC’s securitization products in the market, including secondary trading, and proactively providing recommendations in program improvements as appropriate.
Analyzing mortgage funding costs in the market and proactively identifies opportunities in strategic pricing and product design.
Providing analysis and advices to support Canadian government’s public policy decisions regarding mortgage funding
Monitoring global policy, regulatory and market developments related to mortgage funding and securitization; assessing implications to CMHC securitization products and recommending enhancements if required.
What We Are Looking For
A commitment to demonstrating CMHC values.
Bachelor’s degree with a concentration in Finance, Business Administration, Economics, or a related field, and a minimum of five (5) years of relevant work experience with increasing responsibility, preferably in mortgage securitization; OR an equivalent combination of education and experience.
Demonstrated experience in researching, developing and implementing creative financial structures and pricing models.
Demonstrated experience with Mortgage Backed Securities, Asset Backed Securities, and fixed-income security pricing and trading.
Demonstrated experience and skills in leading and coordinating large scale projects.
Demonstrated experience and skills in working with various computer applications and softwares (e.g. MS Office) as well with financial analysis tools (e.g. VBA, C , SAS, Matlab) .
Strong knowledge of statistics, econometrics and an understanding of accounting.
Strong organizational skills and the ability to deliver time-sensitive results.
Strong ability in providing innovative solutions under uncertain and evolving market environment.
Ability in building and maintaining effective working relationships.
A Master’s degree in the fields noted above and/or a professional designation in the following: Chartered Financial Analyst (CFA), Financial Risk Manager (FRM), Professional Accounting Designation (CPA) or any other relevant licence, designation, or certificate.
Proven knowledge of securitization principles and practices.
