Job Purpose (Job Summary): The Senior Dev-Ops Engineer will be responsible for automating build and deployment of software for digital applications (web, app etc) on DEV and UAT. This includes maintenance and enhancement of source control system, software configuration management, continuous integration, and build/deployment tools to successfully and efficiently support Invesco Canada digital development life cycle.

Key Responsibilities / Duties:

  • Work with Development team to execute the continuous integration and continuous deployment (CI/CD) processes, as well as to refine and clarify requirements for development process automation initiatives and projects
  • Participate in planning discussions with Development, PM, QA and other teams in regards to deployment timing
  • Maintain expertise in the areas of CI/CD, including industry trends, strategies, and products to ensure that our assets are effectively and efficiently utilized
  • Responsible for trouble shooting/collaborating with team members in different environments to resolve issues

Work Experience / Knowledge:

  • Advanced experience with Oracle Weblogic (5+ years)
  • Continuous Integration tool sets: SVN, Nexus, Jenkins and Maven (5+ years)
  • Scripting: shell, python, ruby etc (5+ years)
  • Technologies: Java, Linux (7+ years)
  • Good experience executing automated application builds and deployments:
  • Other Tools: Git, and Bamboo
  • Oracle WebCenter experience is an asset

Skills / Other Personal Attributes Required:

  • Familiar with Java, J2EE technology stack
  • Understanding of source control, branching and merge strategies
  • Technical problem solving skills
  • Understanding the interworking's of Windows, Linux and Unix based systems
  • Attention to detail, persistence when troubleshooting release issues with development and global operations/deployment teams
  • Research new technology for CI/CD improvement
  • Provide guidance/advice new technology to improve CI/CD process
  • Demonstrate ability to work with multi scrum teams
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills. As well as interpersonal skills necessary to effectively communicate with a variety of individuals at different technical levels
  • Ability to conduct complex analysis and present data in a meaningful way
  • Strong organizational skills and detail orientation
  • Open minded, flexible, and willing to listen for other people‚Äôs opinions

Formal Education:(minimum requirement to perform job duties)

  • Undergraduate degree or diploma in Computer Science, Information Systems, or equivalent work experience

Working Conditions:

  • Normal office environment
  • Normally works a regular schedule of hours, however hours may vary depending upon the project or assignment
