A group company within NTT DATA currently seeks a Systems Designer/Architect to join our team in Toronto, ON (downtown).

As a Systems Designer/Architect you will have had significant exposure in all or one of the following key Technology and Domain areas:

  • Oracle

  • J2EE

  • Weblogic

  • Web Services

  • Cloud technology

  • MQ/EMB

  • Performance Testing/Tuning

  • Agile

  • Autosys

  • SAML

You are multi-skilled and adaptable and have been exposed to multiple assignments in your past lives. You show the ability to work closely and effectively with developers, business systems analysts, project managers, delivery management and business partners to identify and design appropriate IT Solutions.

You will provide architectural, design, governance and technical leadership to developers/business/management teams within projects in which you are assigned and you will use your knowledge of design, development, information security and IT architecture best practices to ensure correct processes and direction are followed within Busness Banking/Payments Domain Area.

You will provide comprehensive senior level technical consulting to other IT senior management and senior technical teams. You will provide subject matter expertise on specific existing technologies and manage the ongoing vitality of the technology throughout it lifecycle.

Ideally you will have a minimum 4+ years of progressive information technology experience with full application development life cycle and systems integration experience. You will hold a University degree in Computer Science or equivalent as well as a deep understanding of Business Banking/Payments Domain.

You will have gained experience in software that incorporates business rules development and have experience in systems design using UML diagrams. You have the ability to lead and influence others and the ability to communicate effectively to technical and non-technical audiences.

Additionally a thirst for knowledge and aptitude to learn new technologies and systems quickly is a definite asset and you have the ability to coordinate work tasks for developers.

  • Minimum of two to three years’ experience working in financial services, experience in wealth management including Brokerage, Private Wealth, Retirement & Trust solutions and Online channels is an asset

  • A minimum of three years’ experience architecting small to medium scale application implementations with progressively larger degrees of responsibility and scope of implementation in financial firm, within Wealth Management

  • Proven effective leadership to drive and facilitate transformation in a large and complex organization. Includes ability to influence decision making and facilitate teams with multiple stakeholders at all levels in the organization as well as knowledge of change management discipline and best practices.

  • Solid experience operating in a complex information technology and management process environment.

  • Knowledge of Service Oriented Architecture/Patterns is an asset

  • Hold deep understanding of the wealth management industry trends that drive decisions and budgets and have the ability to crystallize the response to these trends across multiple platforms including advisor desktop, online channels & mobile platforms.

  • Thorough understanding of enterprise application integration issues and experience with modern integration technologies

  • Experience with any Enterprise Service Bus product is an asset

  • Experience with SOA design and deep understanding of message-oriented integration concepts is an asset

  • Solid knowledge of tools, techniques and practices for design, development and maintenance of relational databases capable of managing object.

  • Excellent written and verbal communication as well as strong interpersonal skills.

  • Strong collaboration, analytical, and consultative skills.

  • Demonstrated communication and presentation skills for effective messaging on strategic and tactical recommendations

  • Excellent planning and execution skills with a proven ability to establish and meet solution architecture goals and objectives – Project Manager designation a definite plus

  • Strong estimation experience via multiple methods, as well as the ability to estimate approaches without strict guidelines and new technologies

  • Excellent at expectations management, obtaining buy-in/consensus, negotiating solutions, resolving conflict

  • Proven broad business domain expertise in key financial services functional areas and understanding of the operations, business value drivers

  • Ability to analyze business operations to understand their strengths / weaknesses and determine opportunities for process/functional re-engineering

  • Experience with Business Banking and/or payments experience (Good to Have)
