In thisfull-time permanenthybrid position, you will be a member of the Ontario Client Relations team and will have a dedicated contribution to the Homeownership Underwriting team for approximately 4 months of the year. In Client Relations, you will be accountable for a specific client portfolio of lender adjudication centres, develop in-depth knowledge of your client’s needs and priorities and provide customized training and support, while maintaining specialized knowledge of CMHC’s programs. You will also be a member of the national training specialist team and contribute insights and opportunities while collaborating on the development of new training material. While supporting the underwriting function, you will analyse and make decisions on files and offer advice and support to clients. Working with both teams, you will enhance the knowledge and expertise of CMHC’s Account Managers and Residential Underwriters while ensuring consistent messaging across the insurance function.

  • Developing and maintaining strong ties and long-term relationships with clients and recognizing business opportunities.

  • Working with the CRM training team to deliver customized programs that enhance the knowledge and expertise of CMHC’s RUs and Account Managers while ensuring consistent messaging across the insurance function.

  • Establishing relationships with key external training experts within financial institutions and Education facilities to further expand CMHC’s reach within targeted organizations in order to compliment other insurance business strategies.

  • Analyzing and synthesizing a wide variety of information, such as volume reports and market analysis data, to develop and execute sales strategies to promote CMHC mortgage loan insurance within a diversified portfolio

  • Meeting or exceeding business targets, including information transfer, client visibility, market share and business volumes

  • Delivering presentations and training at client events and participating in training and information activities as part of strategic client support.

  • Managing your assigned portfolio, including the budget and other resources, to ensure optimum client service and efficiency.

  • Analysing risk of insurance applications transmitted by the Approved lendersand providing a risk response commensurate with CMHC’s programs and underwriting policies.

  • Providing information and professional opinions on areas of activity covered by CMHC mortgage loan insurance.

  • Clarifying CMHC's underwriting policies to Approved lenders.

What We Are Looking For

  • A commitment to demonstrating CMHC values.

  • Bachelor’s degree in administration, preferably with a specialization in commerce or marketing, and at least five (5) years of relevant experience or an equivalent combination of education and relevant work experience.

  • Demonstrated experience in building and maintaining client relationships and recognizing business opportunities

  • Demonstrated experience in communicating information to various audiences.

  • Demonstrated experience working with underwriting products, policies, practices and procedures.

  • In-depth knowledge of the mortgage initiation industry, particularly CMHC mortgage loan products and services.

  • Excellent marketing and business development skills, with an aptitude for delivering effective group presentations and training.

  • Ability to read and interpret property appraisal reports.

  • Demonstrated ability to work independently as well as part of a team to achieve common goals

  • Excellent organization and time management skills enabling the balance of workloads and the prioritization of requests to meet deadlines with strong attention to detail.

  • Ability to achieve results, deliver quality work and adapt to changing priorities.

  • Excellent interpersonal (tact and diplomacy) skills including the ability to persuade others.

  • Ability to analyze and synthesize information.

  • Self-starter with good organizational skills.

  • Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Office (Word, Powerpoint, Excel).
