IBM UX-focused Content Specialist in TORONTO, Ontario
The IBM Watson Analytics team is looking for a UX-focused Content Specialist to join our downtown Toronto studio. We design and create IBM Watson Analytics, a digital and cognitive data discovery tool for business users. We need you to create beautiful and informative sample content (data visualizations + predictions) to help new users appreciate, master and love IBM Watson Analytics. If you love data and bringing it to life visually and finding hidden insights and presenting what you've found, this might be the role for you. As the UX-focused Content Specialist within a growing design team of exceptional talent, you will collaborate with some of IBM’s brightest minds. You are equally excited about analyzing data as you are about producing brilliant content of the highest quality. Teams are based at strategic IBM Lab locations and presence on site is required 100% of the time. This role will involve working with technology that is covered by embargo Export Regulations. You will work with stakeholders from all business units to ideate, plan, and create effective content that improves the user experience of discovering, learning and exploring our product offerings. You thrive in a fast-paced environment and can adapt to changing situations, priorities and ways of thinking. Not only are you up-to-date on content best practices, you proactively bring new ideas to shape the conversation of cognitive computing and build the analytics community.
You’re not afraid to geek out on data or roll up your sleeves to build use cases that solve business challenges and meet our users’ needs. You’re an information architect, a natural storyteller, a master wordsmith, a producer of high-value video content, and you’re also super fun to work with.
You can quickly grasp technical information, identify context and relevance, and leverage insight to produce compelling narratives that elevates the product experience. You want to make an impact on the world of technology and you’re not afraid to question the status-quo.
At least 5 years of dedicated content experience, preferably in a product-focused environment
A portfolio of effective stories, videos and artifacts that improves business results, simplifies complicated problems, and enhances the user experience
Excellent writing, editing and proofreading skills
The ability to write in a persuasive way that not only tells a story but also makes an emotional connection to move the reader through the sales funnel
Demonstrated organization skills, attention to detail and ability to multi-task
Direct experience collaborating with cross-functional teams and stakeholders, including designers, data scientists and researchers
Strong understanding of information architecture methodologies
Knowledge of content management platforms and paradigms
Strong presentation skills and ability to articulate ideas clearly and concisely
Knowledge or genuine interest in cognitive, data analytics and business intelligence tools
