Cara Operations Social Media Manager in Vaughan, Ontario

Cara's Digital team is growing again!

We are looking for a Social Media Manager to join our growing digital marketing team. We are looking for someone to manage and grow our online communities, and be our social media thought leader on day-to-day basis. You will be the voice of eight national brands online; including Swiss Chalet, Harvey’s, East Side Mario’s and more. You will be responsible for the execution of social media content strategies for each of our brands, and will be tasked with increasing Cara’s share of voice in Canada’s competitive restaurant space. You will report to the Director, Digital Marketing & Creative, and work closely with various members of our in-house digital marketing team.

Major Responsibilities

  • Develop the monthly content strategy by creating and deploying all social media posts for all eight brands on Facebook, Twitter, Instagram, YouTube, and Pinterest to improve brand awareness, amplify our marketing message, and engage our fan base.

  • Lead the social media customer service strategy by working closely with our Guest Services team and ensuring that we are achieving our targets around respond rates, handling time and any operational follow-up required.

  • Pull social media analytics and present a monthly social media report card to each brand.

  • As needed, build influencer outreach programs that successfully leverage earned media coverage for our brands.

  • Be available for real-time or moment marketing opportunities like key sporting events, award shows and other trending topics that happen in evenings and weekends with the objective of increasing share of voice

  • Work with Cara creative team to organize photoshoots, video content and any development of assets that are necessary to launch online.

  • Contribute to the proposal for the expansion of Cara’s social media landscape, including but not limited to SnapChat, Periscope, etc. Build training material and educate brand teams on an ongoing basis.

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities

  • 3-5 years’ experience with social media marketing, community management, content creation, influencer outreach and digital analytics.

  • Bachelor's degree in marketing, communications, journalism, public relations or similar field

  • Exceptional copywriting and intrapersonal communications skills. If we’re lucky, you may even speak French!

  • Experience working with social media software providers like Hootsuite, Sysomos, Radian6, etc., but also understand how those tools work together with our advertising partners like Google Analytics, Facebook, Twitter and YouTube.

  • Experience building paid social campaigns and creating custom audiences based on 1st party data
