Cara Operations Training Coordinator, Bier Markt in Vaughan, Ontario

We are looking for a Training Co-ordinator to support all things People Development at the Bier Markt. The position will report to the Manager, Learning & Development.

The Role

What could your week look like?

You will attend some meetings at the CARA home office, whether it’s about an upcoming menu change or a new restaurant that we’re opening. You will chat with our partners (Brand Chef, Brand Manager or Operations Leads) over coffee at the coffee station so you can build solid relationships to ensure we can execute menu roll-outs seamlessly. You will work on resources that will help our culinary and service teams learn about new offerings.

You’ll also be a part of a larger CARA training team who meets once a week to share what they are working on and hopefully steal some of the ideas (with pride) and bring them to the Bier Markt.

You might spend a day at a restaurant or talk with a Restaurant Training Manager over the phone to get feedback on the onboarding process or see how they are maintaining the brand training requirements.

Major Responsibilities:

What you’ll do:

Coordinate all brand menu updates and launches

  • Edit training material to adhere to brand menu food and beverage specifications

  • Support other departments (operations, culinary, beverage) initiatives by providing training design and solutions for job aids for training programs

  • Communicate training programs and opportunities to stores

Follow up with all restaurants to ensure they meet audit and training requirements

  • Provide resources and support for Certified Training program

  • Coordinate and distribute training related reports and metrics

  • Assist in the communication, implementation and measurement of training interventions/solutions

Coordinate onboarding and operations support for GMs and Chefs

  • Coordinate travel and training store set up

  • Coordinate resources for training

  • Ensure process/documents are up to date

Support NSO Training process

  • Help coordinate training at new store openings

  • Liaise with NSO Project Manager to ensure all training resources are up to date and available for training per region

Qualifications:

What we’re looking for:

  • Working towards Post-secondary education in Adult Education, human resources or a related field, considered an asset

  • Excellent knowledge of the casual dining industry and restaurant operations, considered an asset

  • Excellent knowledge in the art of bier and food pairing, considered an asset

  • Proficient in Microsoft Office applications

  • Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal

  • Ability to manage multiple priorities and meet strict deadlines

  • Strong organizational skills
