Basic Function:

Description:* Compiles and analyses financial information to prepare entries to accounts, such as general ledger accounts, business transactions, and applying accounting principles.*


  • Perform daily P&L; statement by utilizing the Commodity Trading platform - ITAS.
  • Perform reconciliation of sugar and energy trades within ITAS to independent, third party confirmations
  • Initiate daily margin payments arising from sugar and energy positions
  • Prepare various month end reports (i.e. futures reconciliation, sugar purchases, forward rates) for Commodity trading
  • Prepare and monitor daily foreign currency exposure report, keeping and verifying records of FX transactions as they occur
  • Participate traditional accounting tasks; including preparing GL reconciliations, verifying invoices and other assignments as needed
  • In cooperation with trading department, prepare the Trade Risk brief ( spreads and quotes working) each month
  • Prepare quarterly survey for Stats Canada
  • Ad hoc analysis and projects for finance department

Education and/or Experience Required:

  • Accounting Diploma
  • Enrolment in first year courses CPA preferred

Relationships/interdepartmental Liaisons:

Internal: Liaising with various departments of the ASR Group as required.
