Work Site: Margaret Fulton Centre (Adult Day Care), North Vancouver

Status: Casual

Start Date: As soon as possible

Salary: $19.52 - $21.34 per hour

Hours: 0930-1600 Monday to Friday Rotating

JOB SUMMARY:

The Bathing Program Assistant assists clients in the bathing program with all aspects of bathing.

Records client’s bathing time; reports concerns or unusual occurrences to the Registered Nurse and records unusual occurrences on client’s records. Maintains familiarity with all aspects of the Adult Day Centre and describes Centre activities to clients as directed.

QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Grade 12 or equivalent.

  • Recognized Home Support/Resident Care Attendant Certificate.

  • Current First Aid and CPR certificates.

**Vancouver Coastal Health requires applicants to demonstrate English language proficiency as set by the CACHWR. You will be required to provide one of the documents below if you are selected for consideration:

  • If you are a native English speaker: proof of completion of Grade 10 English or;

  • If you are a non-native English speaker: copy of results from one of these standardized English proficiency tests, TOEFL, IELTS, CLB PT, CELPIP, CAEL.

  • Ability to communicate both verbally and in writing.

  • Ability to establish and maintain rapport with clients.

  • Physical ability to perform the duties of the position.

  • Ability to operate related equipment.

  • Ability to deal effectively with seniors.

  • Ability to observe and recognize changes in clients.

  • Ability to work independently and as a member of the team.

  • Ability to organize and prioritize work.
