BD (Becton, Dickinson and Company) CDN - Bilingual Contracts & Rebates Support, Commercial Operations, 12 Month Contract in Canada


General Function:

The Contracts & Rebates Support role is a team member of our Commercial Operations Department. This position is accountable for providing support in any of the key responsibilities that fall under the management of Contracts and Rebates. In this role tasks are assigned by business need and are prioritized accordingly. This dynamic role will work closely with Contracts, Rebates, Business Analytics, NASSC and other functional areas within the Commercial Operations department.

Key Responsibilities Contracts

  • Efficiently manage the contracts process for an assigned region. Backup other regional responsibilities as required.

  • Run sales and expiry reports, analyze data and liase with the sales force, marketing and business analysts to ensure contracts are renewed in a timely manner with approved pricing

  • Ensure all contract product additions and membership maintenance changes are actioned in a timely manner

  • Manage communications with Sales and the external customers (Distributor, Group Purchasing Organization, Direct Customer) surrounding contract pricing and membership

  • Liase with Customer Service to address any contract or pricing related inquiries to ensure a high level of customer service and minimize order management pricing discrepancies

  • Support rebate processing by immediately addressing contract errors to ensure rebates are completed in a timely manner thus allowing for accurate sales compensation and customer incentive reporting

  • Lead communications with Distributors for an assigned region to ensure that their contract pricing system is accurate to minimize rebate processing errors. Follow-up to ensure prompt reconciliation of discrepancies

  • Run volume commitment and adhoc reporting to meet the business requirements

  • Track and manage all requests requiring a 48 hour turnaround time including contract membership changes, product additions, Customer Service order management issues

  • Work with various business units and/or operations functions on special projects as required

Key Responsibilities - Rebates

  • Manage monthly rebate claim file; loading and processing of assigned distributor accounts which includes off contract data (sales tracings)

  • Validate dealer rebate claims for accuracy

  • Work with the distributors and Contract Specialist to resolve rebate errors

  • Actively review distributor AR balances, ensuring deductions, payments and credits are accurately offset and reflected on the distributor accounts on a monthly basis

  • Build relationships with distributor contacts through regularly scheduled face to face meetings

  • Maintain the rebate tracker to ensure BD has a clear understanding of the monthly claim status including repayment, reprocessing and reclaim standing

  • Record and maintain rejection rate metrics in a distributor dashboard

  • Load distributor inventory files and support rebate liability analysis

  • Support annual distributor inventory revaluation efforts

  • Run sales reports and rebate analyses as required

  • Project work as required system integration and data accuracy improvement projects



  • Bachelor s Degree in Business Administration or related discipline

  • Bilingual (English & French)

  • 3-5 years Vistex Contract/Billback/Chargebacks) experience

  • 3-5 years SAP, Business Intelligence (BI) and/or Business Warehouse (BW)
