As the World Wide Lead Engineer for Industrial Refrigeration for Refined Oils you will provide technical expertise for refrigeration and cooling systems used in the refining and packaging of edible oils in all regions of the world. You will be responsible for the design standards, process capabilities, hazard analysis, performance monitoring, technical training, and incremental or significant improvements. You will collect, documents and disseminates learnings and best practices through “technology Package” for the High Hazard Process of Ammonia and refrigeration where it is used in Refined Oils.
60% Technology Design and Capability
Responsible for collecting, documenting and researching the requirements for the technology package for the Refrigeration systems used in Refined Oils refineries and packaging plants. The work will be prioritized with the manufacturing technology leader using a risk based decision making approach.
Supports the development of the internal/external risk tolerances and standards while achieving the best total cost to operate the processes within global refined oils.
Partners with Functional Leadership (Strategic Sourcing, Reliability, Safety, Environmental, Food Safety, Engineering R&D) to define the design requirements & standards for the process for global refined oils.
Translates the requirements for technology design & capability into a technology package
Provides Subject Matter Expert support Process Risk Assessments in regard to process in global refined oils.
Supports the geography COE leads in deploying high hazard technology design requirements into Build projects & existing asset
Supports the technology risk management for the high hazard process technology so that the process design has compliance with applicable internal standards (i.e. food safety, quality, regulatory compliance, environmental, health and safety) as well as external governmental/regulatory entities (i.e. EU Law, FDA, OSHA, etc.)
The position has accountability for the performance, energy efficiency, reliability and capital effectiveness of the recommended process as it is outlined in the Technology Package.
20% Technology Performance
In conjunction with Manufacturing Excellence SMEs & Refined oils COE’s, assists with the application of continuous improvement leading practice/tools to improve the utility process cost and/or capabilities
Collects & documents lessons learned as they relate to refined oils processes from Build projects to continuously improve the technology package.
Supports and conducts audits for the high hazard technologies in refined oils. Through established network, supports corporate benchmarking metrics and performance measurements to advise/consult on process improvement solutions that contribute to efficiency improvements and deliver cost savings.
10% Technology Education
- Supports the development of the technical educational content for operators and line management of the high hazard process technology in refined oils.
10% Technology Innovation-road mapping
- Keeps abreast of emerging technology development/improvements, customer expectations and regulatory changes within the industry and incorporates into the design requirements so that the process design maintains its capability to deliver the product(s) and/or service(s) meeting the market requirements and internal/external risk tolerances and standards while achieving the best total cost to operate.
Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering
Minimum 8 years of relevant experience working in engineering or technical operations.
2 years’ experience in design, operation and maintenance of industrial refrigeration systems
Ability to communicate effectively cross –culturally
Basic knowledge of automation and process control
Strong fundamental understanding of industry leading practices in managing the different risks of the technologies used in refined oils
Proven ability to influence results with peers, customers (internal and external) and vendors
Proven ability to partner effectively with all levels of the organization
Proven ability to influence results with technical managers, technical leaders and peers
Demonstrated excellent verbal and written communication skills
Fluent in English
Ability to travel extensively globally up to 40% or more
Valid Passport or the ability to obtain one
Experience with risk analysis mythologies (Hazop, Swift, LOPA, PSRM)
Experience in construction project management
Knowledge of Food, Occupational and Process Safety standards and requirements
Experience leading classroom training
Deep expertise and knowledge of the processes utilized in refined oils.
Proven experience to work in international environment with different cultures
