WD-40 Company National Accounts Manager in Canada
We have a rare opportunity for an experienced National Accounts Manager to join our tribe and champion the creation and implementation of account specific sales and marketing programs to meet (and ideally exceed) sales goals for assigned national accounts and accounts managed by Third Party Broker/Agency partners.
The successful candidate will have broad experience successfully selling new product innovation into Walmart and other automotive, mass, industrial and hardware channels. E-commerce/Amazon account management experience is highly desired.
Ideal candidates will demonstrate their motivation to meet and exceed personal and team goals, be hyper organized, have strong analytical and sales planning skills and possess exceptional communication.
Located in Toronto, the National Accounts Manager is an independent contributor role and does not have direct reports but will need to partner collaboratively with all internal teams and brokers to achieve goals.
Develop and implement sales strategies/plans (aligned with corporate goals and objectives) to deliver on Net Invoice Sales (NIS), Net Sales and EBITDA from assigned National Accounts and third-party managed customers.
Develop multiple touch points within assigned National Account base as well as customer base managed by third-party agencies, including key points of decision (POD) and the related departments & functional areas to attain desired sales objectives (NIS, EBITDA).
Determine customer’s needs and apply a broad base of product knowledge (features and benefits) to create and deliver solution driven values selling presentations. Effectively present product knowledge, programs, promotions, sales literature, technical information, company values etc. in a concise, coherent, consultative and convincing manner.
Ensure distribution and department plan-o-grams (space and position) for all assigned customers are maintained and enhanced to meet/exceed expectations through innovation, multiple size offerings and multiple department placements.
Accurate forecasting and well considered program recommendation.
Execute and support major promotions.
Develop National Account, account-specific programs in concert with Sales and Marketing leaders and other teammates.
Understand customer insights across all brands, categories and channels in order to analyze, research, prepare/review presentations, negotiate and ultimately close sales to impact maximum DIY and professional end-user purchases according to established goals. Applies market, customer and consumer insights in the preparation and execute value selling presentation and marketing & trade channel strategies within new and existing customers to achieve established goals. Develop consumer insights and drivers in the creation of pull through sales and marketing strategies.
Regularly review and report the Measure/Learn/React (MLR) process across the more complex and critical national brand initiatives and make recommendations for future investment of cross-functional time, talent and treasure.
Actively manage, audit and report performance of third party broker/agents across all trade channels in the attainment of revenue and distribution goals.
Solicit new key, direct customers while continuing to develop existing customer base thus contributing to overall growth in NIS. Implement and develop growth of new trade channels and business opportunities.
Responsible for implementation & management of third party E-Commerce partners.
Background & Expertise: 7+ years successful CPG national account sales experience across diverse trade channels. Previously sold into Walmart.
Education Completed: Bachelor Degree in business or relevant field
Drivers License: Current and valid driver’s license
Systems: Wal-Mart Retail Link, MS Office suite
