The Relief Night Manager works two shifts weekly fulfilling the Night Manager duties, and 3 shifts weekly as Night Guest Service Agent and is also responsible for covering any vacation time the Night Manager takes.

The Night Manager is responsible for representing Executive Management and Fairmont Waterfront to our Guests and patrons during the evenings. They are responsible for ensuring that, in accordance with all Fairmont Corporate standards, the highest levels of Guest Service and a progressive working environment are maintained in a professional and courteous manner, while maximizing the profit of the Rooms Division.

The Night Guest Service Agent is responsible for ensuring the highest level of Guest Service by consistently exceeding Guest expectations at the Front Desk and maximizing potential revenue; ensuring results are achieved in accordance with objectives, performance and quality standards established by Fairmont Hotels & Resorts and the Fairmont Waterfront.

Summary of Responsibilities:

Reporting to the Front Office Manager, responsibilities and essential job functions include but are not limited to the following:

Night Manager Duties:

  • Consistently offers professional, engaging and friendly service
  • Supervise, support, and assist as required all of the nightly operations of the hotel
  • Practice and maintain Fairmont Hotels & Resorts and The Fairmont Waterfront standards and procedures
  • Work with Security to ensure the safety and comfort of our guests
  • Prepare for and execute the end of day process for the Front Office, Restaurant, Lounge, and In Room Dining systems, as well as restore their systems for the next day’s operations
  • Collect and prepare all of the materials required for accounting audit

Night Guest Service Agent Duties:

  • Consistently offers professional, engaging and friendly service
  • Assist guests with registration and departure while complying with our Fairmont Hotels & Resorts Service Standard
  • Assist the Night Manager in preparing and executing the end of day process for the hotel
  • Work with the Night Manager and Security to ensure the comfort and safety of our guests
Employee Status

Qualifications:

  • Previous experience in Front Office at a supervisory level is preferred
  • Proficient in the English language (verbal & written), second language is an asset
  • Must be able to handle a multitude of tasks in an intense, ever-changing environment
  • Ability to focus attention on guest needs, remaining calm and courteous at all times
  • Previous PMS experience an asset
  • Computer literate in Microsoft Window applications an asset
  • Must possess a professional presentation
  • Strong interpersonal and problem solving abilities
  • Highly responsible and reliable
  • Ability to work well under pressure in a fast paced environment
  • Ability to work cohesively with fellow colleagues as part of a team
  • Hospitality Diploma or Degree an asset
  • Must be flexible in terms of working hours (this is an overnight position)
  • Must have the ability to handle cash effectively and accurately
