Job Title: Research Coordinator (Education & Internal Awards)
Work Site: Vancouver General Hospital, 12th and Oak
Status: Regular Full Time - (1.00 FTE)
Reporting to the Manager, Research Education & Internal Awards, you will support all education and internal awards programs offered by the Vancouver Coastal Health Research Institute (VCHRI).
provide recommendations to management while leading VCH staff, researchers and health professionals, in addition to other internal and external stakeholders to ensure successful coordination of the day-to-day operations of several award programs, ongoing education programming and program evaluation.
instruct educational sessions on topics related to the conduct and organization of research and award activities and participates in the development of a VCHRI education and internal awards strategy.
be expected to function independently, with minimal guidance from the Manager, Research Education & Internal Awards.
Makes independent decisions, using sound judgment and ability to communicate with a broad range of individuals from various disciplines
Work both independently, as well as work effectively with other internal and external stakeholders outside the organization such as academic and healthcare institutions, hospital foundations and research entities.
Take initiative and set your own priorities based on workload and competing deadlines.
Coordinates stakeholder engagement management
Exercise tact, discretion and diplomacy and to maintain confidentiality when handling sensitive organizational information.
Use advanced computer skills in a variety of software applications and web-based technologies including content management to update the VCHRI Website and develop attractive educational materials
Bachelor’s degree in relevant discipline plus at least three - five (3-5) years related experience in a research environment assisting in developing and delivering education activities and grant administration to health care professionals and researchers or an equivalent combination of education, training and experience.
Familiarity with the research award/funding process and experience dealing with funding agencies is essential.
