As a Senior Security Consultant, you will support Security Compliance consulting teams in the development and management of internal TELUS security and compliance programs for large and strategic clients and for internal corporate programs.

Responsibilities:

As a Senior Security Consultant, you will take on many exciting roles:

Expert in Governance and Compliance field:

  • Develop, initiate, maintain, and revise security compliance program elements and related activities towards demonstrating and managing compliance against set standards

  • Act as an independent review and evaluation body to ensure that compliance issues and concerns are being appropriately evaluated, investigated and resolved

Multitasker:Prioritize and multi-task in a fast-paced, deadline driven environment and adapt to changing priority schedules

  • Monitor and coordinate compliance activities and identify trends

  • Monitor the performance of compliance programs and take appropriate steps to improve effectiveness

  • Provide responses to ongoing client audit requirements, maintain security and privacy governance plans, and develop new security management & risk assessment deliverables

Proactive Problem Solver: Identify potential areas of compliance vulnerability and risk; develop/implement corrective action plans for resolution of problematic issues, and provide general guidance on how to avoid or deal with similar situations in the future

Required Knowledge:

  • Knowledge of governance, risk management, incident response, security analysis (vulnerability management)

  • Understanding security relative to modern datacenter, computing, networking and telecommunications technologies

  • Troubleshooting of multi-vendor security environments including:

o SIEM tools (ArcSight, RSA Envision)

o Firewalls (Cisco, Juniper and Palo Alto)

o IDS/P technologies (Tippingpoint, Juniper, McAfee)

o IPSec and SSL VPN’s (Juniper, Cisco)

o Remote Authentication (RSA SecurID, CryptoCard)

  • Experience with Unix and Unix-like operating environments

  • Experience with TCP/IP networks

  • Understanding and experience with the security methodologies, standards, and best practices (ITIL, ISO 27001 and other security-related practices are an asset

Required Education/Professional Certificate:

  • University degree in a relevant field

  • Must hold appropriate professional experience and accreditations in areas related to Security, Audit and Compliance domains, such as CISA, CISSP, CAP and CISM; other relevant certifications include: CRISC, GCIH, CIPP/C, ABCP, ISO 27001 (Lead Implementer/Auditor), ITIL, and PMP

  • Ability to gain Government of Canada security clearance (Secret)

Required Experience:

  • Minimum 7 years of experience in design, implement and manage security compliance programs

  • Extensive experience interfacing with clients and managing/building client relationships

  • Prior experience in Business Analyst (BA) roles developing and/or assessing business processes would be beneficial

  • Experience responding to ISO 27001, NERC, ITSG, NIST, and/or PCI compliance requirements and standards would be beneficial

  • Experience performing or responding to formal audits against CSAE 3416, SAE 16, or SOC 2 reporting standards would be beneficial
