Intuit’s Canada Tax Group is leader in building personal and professional tax software. We innovate and simplify customer experience for multiple tax offerings including TurboTax, SnapTax, and ProFile.

   

The Canada Tax Quality team is responsible for designing, developing, executing and automating functional and non-functional tests, filing defects, assisting in root cause analysis of defects, driving the resolution of defects, monitoring regression test case runs. You will be assuming the role of the customer. To that point, you will be directly responsible in helping to prevent issues from reaching our customers and improve efficiency of team.

   

In this role you will be able to apply the mastery of software engineering to design, influence and drive quality and testability of end to end experience between multiple products and services. This position requires an individual who is passionate about quality and working with cross-functional teams.

   

You will be responsible for working with architects, product managers, developers and designers. Using your detailed understanding of product interactions and applying your intellectual curiosity you will help shape design, implementation and testability of end to end workflows and customer experience that help our customers run their businesses easily every day.

Specific responsibilities include but not limited to: 

   

  • Applies defined software quality best practices and procedures to design, influence, and drive quality and testability of Intuit’s software

  • Test end to end workflows and customer experience with functional, regression, end-to-end testing

  • Actively participate in establishing project plans, estimating work and monitoring progress against milestones

  • Make recommendations to improve end to end workflows and drive quality assurance best practices and processes

  • Investigate and evaluate new testing technologies and products

  • Experience with Agile Development, SCRUM, or XP methodologies

  • Builds an internal and external network to understand work products of various cross functional teams and create end to end view the way customer sees

  • Coaches, mentors others on Quality methods and techniques. Influences design and implementation

  • Coordinates technical dependencies with other teams

  • May lead/facilitate meetings and activities between various groups

  • Participates and influences organizational goals beyond a specific project

  • Develop, maintain and execute test plans and test scripts

  • Translate functional and technical requirements into test cases

  • Identify usability issues and functional deficiencies

  • Set up test environments and troubleshoot related system issues

  • Enter bugs into a database and verify bug fixes

  • Create Gray/White/Black box tests for full coverage

  • Work with internal & external customers to identify root cause 

Qualifications 

  • BS Computer science/engineering

  • Bilingualism (French and English) is preferred

  • 5-6 years experience developing/designing test cases and scripts

  • Experience promoting design for testability, ideas for process improvements and leading change

  • Strong Cross-functional team co-ordination is a must

  • Estimates and sequence of individual activities as inputs to complex project plans

  • Analysis of functional/non-functional requirements /specifications

  • Test Designs, Tested results of non-functional requirements with analysis

  • Recommendations and advocacy for Quality best practices

  • Root Cause Analysis of defects

  • Quality Strategy

  • Scope and time estimates for Quality analysis

  • Product Quality and Risk Analysis

  • Product development process improvements

  • Excellent oral and written communication skills
